Call to Order and Roll Call Present: 4- Bare, Schilder, Wellner and Sauer 2. Approval of Minutes 16-0530 May 10th, 2016 minutes Attachments: Police and Fire minutes, May 10th, 2016 Moved by Wellner, seconded by Schilder, that the minutes be accepted. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Bare, Schilder, Wellner and Sauer 3. Public Comment None 4. Discussion and Action Items 16-0544 May 2016 Police Report Attachments: Police Report May 2016 (2) It's been business as usual. There was another Steven Avery demonstration at the court house that the department covered and also the sheriff's Department brought in extra people to help out. Everything went very well according to Police Chief Reimer. The department has hired a new officer. Alex Nebel from Two Rivers who started on Monday June 14. The department has also hired two new interns, Mackenzie Powers and Will Puestow. City of Manitowoc Page 1 Police and Fire Commission Meeting Minutes June 14, 2016 16-0548 Fire Deptartment May 2016 Report Attachments: Fire Monthly Report-05-2016 Fire Deputy Chief Karl Koch was in attendance for Fire Chief Todd Blaser. It has been business as usual. The department handled a significant fire of a home at 1610 Madison Street. There was no one home at the time but there was significant loss of property. Monday two new hires started that were on the previous hire list. Kyle M. Christiansen and Cody A. Sierecki. These new hires will go through a 2 week training period. 16-0546 Police Department new officer hire list Attachments: Item #16-0546 There were 4 names on the new hire list from the Police Department. All information was e-mailed to the committee for their review before the meeting. No discussion. Moved by Bare, seconded by Wellner, that new hire list from the Police Department be accepted. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Bare, Schilder, Wellner and Sauer 16-0553 Final approval from the committee on the Fire Department eligibility list. Attachments: Fire Item #16-0553 There were 3 names on the new hire list from the Fire Department. All information was e-mailed to the committee for their review before the meeting. No discussion. Moved by Bare, seconded by Sauer, that the new hire list from the Fire Department be accepted. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Bare, Schilder, Wellner and Sauer 5. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 4:45PM. Due to two committee members being out of town there will be no Police and Fire Commission meeting in July. The next meeting will be Tuesday, August 9th.
