Meeting Minutes
November 13, 2020
Call to Order Pursuant to call and notice thereof, a Special Meeting of the Maple Grove
Clty Council was held 4t 4: 00 p. m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the
Maple Grove Government Center/Public Safety Facility, Hennepin County,
Minnesota and online via WebEx.
Present were Councilmembers Leith and Barnett and attending remotely
were Mayor Steffenson and Councilmembers Karen Jaeger and Judy
Hanson. Present also was City Administrator Heidi Nelson and City Clerk
Amy Died.
Mayor Steffenson called the meeting to order at 4: 05 p. m.
Canvass the The purpose of the meeting was to canvass the results of the Municipal
Results of the Election held November 3, 2020. City Clerk Amy Died provided the
Municipal election results for the City of Maple Grove.
Election held Motion by Councilmember Jaeger, seconded by Mayor Steffenson to adopt
Resolution No. 20- 166 to canvass the returns of the Municipal General
November 3
2020 Election. Upon call of the motion by Mayor Steffenson, there were five ayes
and no nays. Motion carried.
Adjournment The meeting was adjourned by Mayor Steffenson at 4: 13 p.m.

PREVIOUS ACTIONS:

RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
Motion to approve Resolution No. 20- 166 declaring the results of the Municipal General Election held
Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
COMMENT:
The City Council serves as the canvassing board for city elections. An abstract including the return
information of the November 3 General Election has been provided to use in declaring the official
results.
The following candidates received the highest number of votes cast and will be sworn in at the first
meeting in January 2021:
Kristy Barnett as Councilmember — four year term
Judy Hanson as Councilmember — four year term
Council consideration and approval is appreciated.
Staff will provide a precinct -by -precinct breakdown of Maple Grove results of federal, state, county, and
local offices once the data is compiled.

CITY OF MAPLE GROVE
HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE MUNICIPAL GENERAL
ELECTION HELD TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020
WHEREAS, Minnesota Election Law 205. 185, subd. 3 states that between the third and
tenth days after an election, the governing body of a city shall act as the canvassing board, canvass
the returns, and declare the results of the election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Maple Grove City Council has
ascertained and determined the result of the November 3, 2020 General Election as follows:
