MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: Yes: 5- Member Barber, Chair Boehner, Vice-Chair Eastman, Member O'Donnell and Member Scarpa Not Present: 2- Member Ryan and Member Stephenson (5) APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES None. This meeting was for budgetary items only. Meeting minutes will be approved during the next committee meeting held on September 21, 2022. (6) STAFF COMMUNICATIONS JW Marriott would like to schedule a beach cleanup date with the Committee for Sunday September 25. (7) PUBLIC COMMENT (TIME CERTAIN 9:30 A.M.) None. (8) PRESENTATION ID 22-2390 AWE Marco Wildlife Budget Proposal Audubon Western Everglades Program Director Lori Beall asked financial support from the committee to continue their conservation programs. (9) OLD BUSINESS (a) Beach and Costal Resources Advisory Committee 2022 Budget Committee members discussed some ideas for the FY 2021-2022 budget which included: • Gopher Tortoise & Low Flying Owl street signs • beach clean-up supplies • Audubon of the Western Everglades outreach & wildlife programs. Members will discuss locations of Gopher Tortoise and Low Flying Owl signs on the next Committee meeting. Committee members requested City staff to write a letter to Marco Island Civic Association and the County regarding lighting warning signs. MOTION by Vice-Chair Eastman, seconded by Member Scarpa, to approve 1,500 dollars for signs, 500 dollars for beach cleanup materials, and 7,800 dollars to Audubon Western Everglades. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: Yes: 5- Member Barber, Chair Boehner, Vice-Chair Eastman, Member O'Donnell and Member Scarpa Not Present: 2- Member Ryan and Member Stephenson (10) NEW BUSINESS Committee members added the Gopher tortes native plants for next committee agenda (11) COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS Member Scarpa mentioned adding a rodenticide discussion one the next committee meeting.
