(7) PUBLIC COMMENT
Al Benarroch, Affordable landscaping, recommended that they could put pavers and attach them to the
pedestals. The pavers would protect the concrete instead of damaging it. The Committee loved the idea.
Mr. Pinter told Mr. Benarroch if he could provide him with a proposal.
(8) PRESENTATIONS
(9) OLD BUSINESS
a. Utility Wraps (Update)
The Art Center created a "Marco Island Creative Wraps Map" brochure. This brochure shows all the
wraps around the Island and the name of the artist. The wraps are getting a good response from
multiple people from different city's. Member Connelly made a comment to the Committee that she will
look into the maintenance for the base for the Utility bases. Overall the main issue for the Committee
and Mr. Pinter is the ongoing maintenance and finding a way to maintain the utility bases without
deteriorating the concrete base.
The City of Marco is getting a lot of positive reviews from local residents and non-residents regarding
the utility wraps. Member Connelly announced that there is a lot of positive feedback on social media
regarding the wraps. Overall the Committee is happy with the wraps, the art work and the people who
helped make it possible.
b. 2020 Marco in Bloom Contest- Proposals For Improvement
Due to Vice-Chair Tobin absence the committee will defer this till the next meeting.

(10) NEW BUSINESS
a. Nature Nights 2021
Overall the Nature Night for 2020 was very successful. For 2021 the Committee has the idea of having
it outdoor. Members of the Committee are thinking about Mackle Park. Member Strungis
recommended in this event they should talk about both the fertilizer ordinance and the importance of
waterways. The Committee expressed the importance of getting more of a younger crowd to the event.
The Committee also has to take into consideration that if they have it outdoors then they will not be
able to record it like they did for the previous one. The Committee will consider their options and see
what they will do regarding this issue.
(11) COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS
a. Committee Concerns/Future Agenda
Member Connelly presented some of the banners that are hung around the Island and showed the
Committee how faded they became. So far member Connelly has 4 quotes for a new vendor to redo
the banners. Member Connelly will continue to look for a vendor that can create a banner that
maintains its color and lasts for a long time as well. Members will look into getting recommendations
from other places here in Southwest Florida.
Regarding the previous meeting regarding Ms. Jeanette O'Donnell, 2nd Avenue, made a couple of flyer
and distributed them to her neighbors. Member Connelly met with Ms. O'Donnell and saw the lake and
how polluted it is. Member Connelly also mentioned that she would also like some trees along Marco
Lake Drive. Ms. O'Donnell is also trying to change the names for a couple streets. Currently in the
process of certifying the signatures.
Member Connelly also mentioned the there is a Artist that is interested in making changes to the
Welcome sign. Member Connelly proceeded with showing the Committee some examples the artist
provided her with. The artist would have to present this idea to several Committee's and get their
approval before taking this matter towards City Council for approval.
(12) ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Committee, Chair Kirlin adjourned the meeting at 4:05 P.M.
