Fertilizer Card Purchase Order Public Works Director Pinter suggested that the Committee pick a second choice from the vendors solicited for Fertilizer cards. First choice Marco Office Supply Printing has not replied back on information needed for the City to move ahead with the PO. Mr. Pinter will get back to the Committee on the name of that second choice. MOTION by Chair Connelly, seconded by Member Eby that the next lowest-priced vendor be selected to print the Committee's fertilizer information card. Black Olive Trees- Recommendations From Affordable Landscaping Ms.Yvette Benarroch spoke about insecticides for the Black Olive Trees that would control the caterpillars, but may be harmful to bees and fish. More research will be done by Affordable Landscape and Design to find out more, and an update will be brought back to the Committee's next meeting. (7) PUBLIC COMMENT Ms. Rene' Ford, a Marco Island resident, spoke of her ideas for clean up inland on the Island. Her ideas included: 1) enforcing responsibility for businesses to clean up their frontage; 2) an adopt a road program, and; 3) artists painting pineapples as hospitality symbols welcoming visitors to the island. Chair Connelly promised to investigate Ms. Ford's proposals. (8) PRESENTATIONS a. Survey of BAC Content on City Website ID 21-1604 Survey of BAC Content on City Website Public Works Director Pinter presented a visual inventory of the Committee's current content on the City's website. The Committee decided to schedule a special workshop on June 16, 2021 @ 3:00P.M. to address this condition. (9) OLD BUSINESS a. Fertilizer Card Distribution Plan (Member Eby) ID 21-1597 Fertilizer Card Distribution Plan Member Eby advised the Committee that MICA can place a notice in the next publication of The WAVE newsletter, if the printing of the fertilizer cards are done by then. b. Prioritization of Committee Website Content ID 21-1598 Prioritization of Committee Website Content Committee members decided to schedule a special workshop to discuss the content. c. Public Murals - Review and Next Steps (Member Nesmith) ID 21-1599 Public Murals- review and next steps Committee members would like to discuss this at the next meeting. d. Seasonal Light Display - Input from Christmas Island Style Committee (Nesmith, Connelly) City of Marco Island Florida Page 2 Beautification Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - Final June 2, 2021 ID 21-1600 Seasonal Light Display input from Christmas Island Style Mr. Pinter said power in the medians need to be fixed to accommodate the Seasonal Light Display. When the City is updated by the Committee as to what locations the decorations are needed, the City will ensure that electrical power is available. e. Public Beach Access Path Beautification - Ideas/action plan/timetable, (Nesmith, Connelly) ID 21-1601 Public Beach Access Path Beautification ideas/action plan/timetable. Chair Connelly reported that proposals are being gathered by various local organizations for signage and bike racks, and that an update will be provided at a future meeting. Motion to Extend the Meeting MOTION by Chair Connelly, seconded by Vice Chair Tobin, to extend the meeting to end no later than 5:05 P.M. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: Yes: 4- Member Eby, Member Kramer, Vice-Chair Tobin and Chair Connelly (10) NEW BUSINESS a. 2022 Fiscal Year Budget - Discussion of Committee Projects and Plans (All) ID 21-1602 2022 Fiscal Year Budget - Discussion of Committee Projects and Plans Public Works Director Pinter updated the Committee on the remaining balance in the 2021 budget, and that next year's budget will most likely be the same amount as this year. Discussion of projects and plans for fiscal year 2022 still need to occur. (11) COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS a. Member Availability for Next Meeting 7/7/21 @ 3:30 P.M. All Members of the Committee who were present indicated their intention to be available for the Committee's next meeting on Wednesday July 7, 2021 @ 3:30 P.M. b. Sharing of Thoughts on Topics for Committee Concern and Interest (All) None.
