(2) ROLL CALL Present: 6- Member Cummings, Member Eby, Member Kramer, Member Leaser, Member Nesmith and Chair Connelly Absent: 1- Vice-Chair Tobin Also Present Al Benarroch, Principal, Affordable Landscape Service and Design LLC CITY STAFF: Timothy Pinter, Public Works Director Martin Luna, Video/Broadcast Technician Tracey Barnett, Administrative Assistant Public Works Department (3) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Chair Connelly. Black Olive Trees- Update from Affordable Landscape and Design Director Pinter explained there was nothing to report from Affordable Landscape. They need to continue with the auditing of how many trees need to be treated and nothing can be done until the Spring. A follow up by Affordable Landscape Service and Design will be scheduled for February 2022. Also, the Calusa Park was brought up about being not maintained properly. Apparently, someone has planted items that were not in the original contract with Affordable Landscape Service and Design and, therefore, were not being trimmed. Mr. Pinter will investigate as to who planted the items and will update the Committee at the next meeting. Committee Website Content- Update ID 21-1702 Committee Website Content Director Pinter explained to the Committee that Mr. Jose Duran from the IT Department will let them know what can and can't be done in changing the BAC webpage. Some of the changes requested by Member Leaser are too extensive for the contract that the City has with the Municode website provider. After the meeting with Mr. Duran, Mr. Leaser will get back to the Committee on the timeline, strategy and cost to move to the revised layout. b. Seasonal Light Display- Update (Chair Connelly) ID 21-1703 Seasonal Light Display Chair Connelly indicated that she contacted Holiday Trimmers to get an estimate for decorating the entrance onto Marco Island. With a look toward possibly decorating the Founder's Park trees as part of the Holiday decor, she will update the Committee as she gets answers. c. 2022 Fiscal Year Budget- Discussion of Committee Projects and Plans (Chair Connelly) ID 21-1704 2022 Fiscal Year Budget Director Pinter advised the Committee that the budget would likely remain $10,000 and to start planning the projects that it would like to undertake in 2022. Also, a discussion of how to spend the remaining 2021 Fiscal year balance will be placed on the Agenda for the next meeting. d. Review of Mission Statement (Member Leaser) ID 21-1705 Review of Mission Statement Mr. Leaser spoke about the modification to the Resolution for the new proposed Mission Statement. The Committee needs to discuss it at it's next meeting before presenting it to the City Council. (10) NEW BUSINESS None. All Members of the Committee who were present indicated their intention to be available for the Committee's next meeting on Wednesday September 1, 2021 @ 3:00 P.M. b. Sharing of Thoughts on Topics for Committee Concern and Interest (All) Chair Connelly shared her updates on the beach access paths. She spoke with a lighting company, and a company that makes creative bike racks. Also, Affordable Landscape and Design will walk with her to suggest ideas for landscaping. Project pricing and a concept rendering will be developed for presentation to the City at it's August 16th meeting.
