(2) ROLL CALL Present: 5- Member Kramer, Member Leaser, Vice-Chair Nesmith, Member Watts and Chair Connelly Also present: Justin Martin Public Works Director Diedre Wint, Administrative Assistant Martin Luna, Video/Technician Storm Gewirtz, Storm Water Engineer (3) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Chair Connelly (4) APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA MOTION by Vice Chair Nesmith, seconded by Member Leaser, that the Agenda be Approved. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: Yes: 6- Cummings, Member Kramer, Member Leaser, Vice-Chair Nesmith, Member Watts and Chair Connelly (5) APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES ID 22-2660 Approval of the Beautification Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes of December 07, 2022. MOTION by Member Cummings, seconded by Vice-Chair Nesmith, that the Minutes of December 07, 2022 be Approved. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: Yes: 6- Cummings, Member Kramer, Member Leaser, Vice-Chair Nesmith, Member Watts and Chair Connelly (6) NEW BUSINESS MURAL PRESENTATION (Jarrett stinchcomb) Jarrett Stinchcomb presented various artistic designs of murals for the Committee to consider as part of their mural initiative. Next step is to present it to City Council as part of the landscape for the Beach Access Beautification Project to determine the components that meet the City's interest and to seek funding sources. (7) OLD BUSINESS UPDATES ID 21-1673 Seasonal Light Display- Update Seasonal decorations were in the process of being taken down The Committee Members were informed City of Marco Island Florida Page 1 Beautification Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - Final January 4, 2023 that for the next season 3 quotes will be needed to secure a purchase order for this initiative. ID 22-2109 Marco in Bloom 2023 The Marco in Bloom event will be published in the February edition of the Marco Gazette with pictures of last year's winners. Committee decided that March 11, 2023 to be the deadline for nominations to be submitted to Marco in Bloom and April 24, 2023 to announce the winners at the City Council Meeting. MOTION by Member Cummings, seconded by Member Kramer, to allocate $1000 from the Committee's budget for posters for Marco in Bloom and Marco Nature Night. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: Yes: 6- Cummings, Member Kramer, Member Leaser, Vice-Chair Nesmith, Member Watts and Chair Connelly ID 21-1888 Marco Nature Night 2023 Committee Members agreed that the start time for Marco Nature night be at 5PM and the end time be 7:30PM. ID 22-2205 Beach Access Beautification Project Update Committee Members were reminded that an accurate budget could not be presented by Agnoli & Barber until surveys and plans are in place. ID 22-2207 10,000 Trees in 10 Years Initiative The tree planting event from remaining funds from the 2022 budget will commence at 1PM at West Elkcam on January 11, 2023. City Council, donors, City Staff and the Media will be in attendance. ID 22-2240 Arbor Day Celebration The Committee will receive an update on the data contained in the zip file for Arbor Day at the next meeting. (8) STAFF COMMUNICATIONS Residents may notice field visits on some of the Culs de sac due to concerns raised about service trucks driving at top them. Also, there may be some cutting back of shrubbery to create a better line of sight. The outstanding utility box that needs wrapping was on the to do list for Affordable Landscaping. Follow up will be made to check on its progress. (9) PUBLIC COMMENT (TIME CERTAIN 3:45 P.M..) None (10) NEXT MEETING: CONFIRMATION & ATTENDANCE Members agreed that the next meeting be held February 01, 2023 at 3PM. (11) PROPOSED AGENDA TOPICS FOR NEXT MEETING Members proposed that Marco in Bloom, Marco Nature Night, Beach Access. 10K Trees, Arbor Day to be City of Marco Island Florida Page 2 Beautification Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - Final January 4, 2023 on the next Agenda under Old Business. (12) OTHER COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS Chair Connelly expressed appreciation and warm wishes to Mary Beth Cummings and Maria Tobin for their time and service to the Committee.
