Julie McDonald is originally from St. Louis before moving to Marco Island in April 2020. Mary Beth Cummings introduced her to the Beautification Advisory Committee. Tiffany Homuth is an active resident on the Island since 2000 and has a background in banking and construction. Also Present Diedre Wint Public Works Department Storm Gewirtz, Storm Water Engineer (3) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Chair Connelly. (4) APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA MOTION by Vice Chair Nesmith, seconded by Member Leaser, that the Agenda be Approved. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: Yes: 6- Member Homuth, Chair Leaser, Member McDonald, Member Watts, Vice-Chair Connelly and Member Nesmith (5) APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES ID 23-2730 Approval of the Beautification Advisory Committee Minutes of January 04, 2023 MOTION by Vice Chair Nesmth, seconded by Member Watts, that the Minutes of January 04, 2023 be Approved. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: Yes: 6- Member Homuth, Chair Leaser, Member McDonald, Member Watts, Vice-Chair Connelly and Member Nesmith (7) PUBLIC COMMENT None (6) OLD BUSINESS City of Marco Island Florida Page 1 Beautification Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - Final February 1, 2023 ID 21-1888 Marco Nature Night 2023 Exhibits and speakers have been arranged for the event at 5:30PM. Information on the event has been widely distributed in and around the community. ID 23-2729 Marco In Bloom 2023 Member McDonald volunteered to take on the Marco In Bloom initiative from outgoing Member Cummings. ID 22-2207 10,000 Trees in 10 Years Initiative Member Leaser updated the Committee on the status of the 10K Tree in 10 Trees initiative and the list of trees suggested for planting on the Island. Members were advised to present other trees that may be added to the list given it is not a complete list. ID 22-2240 Arbor Day Celebration Members agreed to April 21 or April 24 as the dates to explore for Abor Day which will be determined by participation of outside interests availability. (8) NEW BUSINESS None. (9) STAFF COMMUNICATIONS Members were informed to include irrigation in their tree planting initiatives as part of the process for maintenance. (10) NEXT MEETING: CONFIRMATION & ATTENDANCE Members agreed to March 01, 2023 as the date for the next meeting. (11) PROPOSED AGENDA TOPICS FOR NEXT MEETING The Committee proposed Marco Nature Night, Marco In Bloom, Arbor Day, 10K Trees Update, Election of Chair and Vice Chair as Agenda items for the next meeting. (12) OTHER COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS Committee Members requested a financial update on their account.
