Recreation Programs - Lola Dial Ms. Dial reported new programs and distributed 2016 Summer Program Guide. It is noted for the record Ms. Simon entered meeting at 3:05 p.m. b. Facilities Update - Alex Galiana Mr. Galiana reported vandalism (now being monitored) at Mackle Park with bollard lighting. Veterans' Community Park - City staff resealed pavers on City budget. Reviewing grant programs awarding $50,000 - $200,000 for parks. Capital Projects - Repaved and restriped Racquet Center resulting in six (6) extra parking spaces. Parks - Replaced four (4) trash receptacles and four (4) picnic tables. Received citizen concerns regarding lack of lighting on Andalusai/Leland. Awaiting quotes from LCEC to add another street light in the area. c. New Mackle Park Community Center update - Alex Galiana Moving forward with apparent low bid contractor staying within budgeted amount.Targeted shut down date for old community center is August 5, 2016. Moving in July, demo old community building August 15th, and expected completion date for new building is 1 year. Park staying open during construction. (5) COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS None. (6) OLD BUSINESS a. Veterans' Community Park Discussion- if any, future development Committee members presented different options of band shell designs. Mr. Hernstadt stated City Council requested a meeting of opportunity to discuss amenities whether to move forward with action items. He suggested start with design from architect consultant, (Mackle Park cost was $384,000) for Band Shell with restrooms. Mr. Galiana requested a June 2, 2016 PRAC Workshop meeting to determine requested FY17 budget items to City Council. b. Concert in Veterans' Community Park Discussion Ms. Malloy discussed holding 2 events, one in January 2017 for $10,000, smaller event is $7,000. Need request to City Council for approval of $17,000 for two yearly events as community programs. Remainder of FY16 budget funds is approximately $5,000. which can be secured for these events. Committee instructed Ms. Malloy to move forward based on music availability and cost, try Beatles theme first, or Eagles to play longer. c. Bus shelter on San Marco Road Ms. Simon will check costs with Collier County. (7) NEW BUSINESS None. (8) PUBLIC COMMENT None.
