First game Sept 8th Vet Park - Fountain broken and seized up, out of commision for weeks. Now up and running Installers placed a by pass switch to turn off during an event. RC: Quiet now. FY17 Budget $84,000 for Capital Improvements approved. Mackle Park: Closing building, 90% out of building, set up offices in Teen Trailer with check out room. Handing out equipment. Full Operational next week. Notice to Proceed last Monday, bathroom and construction trailer in position without electric. Setting up Temp electric before demo of old community center - three weeks away. Alex will inform PRAC of demo and send photos. Mike Levine Oak trees will be lost, saving three fox tails, replacing 2 of foxtails at Veterans Park. Main tree unable to save and has disease. Will have new landscaping at building. c. New Mackle Park Community Center Update - Alex Galiana (6) OLD BUSINESS None (7) NEW BUSINESS City of Marco Island Florida Page 1 Parks and Recreation Advisory Meeting Minutes - Final August 16, 2016 Committee NOne (8) PUBLIC COMMENT Ed Issler, resident questioned status of Friday's Planning Board meeting regarding proposed (acre and 1/4 size property) 165 unit hotel adjacent to Veterans' Community Park. PRAC can obtain hotel information from Tami Scott, City Planner 2009 Master Plan . If hotel is allowed to be built PRAC to take an interest and get involved and interest letting hotel interfere with Vets Community Park. Gene Burson, resident similar concerns budget $250,000 set aside for engineering. City no longer pays for design, developer will pay for it. Parking, landscaping and band shell. PRAC to recommend to City for what goes in park. Chair Swiacki important information will be out in September. Can recommend no water feature. Member Portu concern to be considered, Park Avenue can use some investment with reasonable growth. See something happen there. Area can be used nicely, with features in location. Vets Park is zoned commercial. C4 near park. Member Berger did not know this was happening with a private developer.
