Recreation Programs - Lola Dial Programs at Family Church on Winterberry Drive. Mackle Park - Punt, Pass & Kick starting tonight 5-6 p.m. November 3 - Mind and Spirit Help get word out for Halo-Scream event October 13th at 4pm to 4am. to Busch Gardens Regular programming. Val Simon arrived at 3:03 pm b. Facilities Update - Alex Galiana Mackle Park - resurfacing Bocce court #1, players love it. Capital project approved - Courts 2 & 3 will be done by December with new turf. Resurfacing four (4) new shuffle board courts in back of building will be completed by end of month. Carlos Portu attended 3:06 pm 2 foxtail palms replanted at Veterans' Community Park. Salvaged another palm, installed in median. MI Academy found a donor for a permanent scoreboard installing at Winterberry. RC budget approved for $84,000 for capital improvements. Enterprise budget now in General Fund, considered another facility in General Fund Budget to expedite issues. Agreement to raise fees (not done in five years), fees will be adjusted yearly - $28.00 increase. c. New Mackle Park Community Center Update - Alex Galiana Contractors on schedule. Presented photos starting demo and as of yesterday to flat ground. 10 days to start lay out building. Two Mackle Park employees Natasha Gengenbach and Heather Lopez created video directions on Facebook and Twitter. Thank you for saving three (3) palms. Thanks fo rypdates. d. Concerts at Veterans' Community Park Update - Samantha Malloy Commitee met doing well planning January 14 and May 27. First Integrity Bank committed to sponsoring concerts. MI Academy Jazz Band, Eddie and the Fat Band, Trivia Band. Two (2) entertainers in May a local country artist, Sara will work out detail and get confirmation. Cost to rent a stage - January $$4,000. Chair Swiacki recommended giving a Proclamation to First Integrity Bank from City of Marco Island. (5) COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS None. (6) OLD BUSINESS (7) NEW BUSINESS None. (8) PUBLIC COMMENT Ed Issler, 908 Joy Circle discussed Chair Swiacki wanting to obtain the proposed hotel plans at Planning Board. PRAC did not have any information on the proposed 165 room hotel (75 high limit) to be built near Veterans' Community Park. $3.4 million dollars with 127 credits amounting to (contractor will give $1 million to build the band shell) . Builder wants to take 1/2 acre and turn to a storm water retention pond or water side dockage which is not consistent with the Master Plan. Has no chance of passing, if plan does pass, costs will rise for many other building. Gene Burson, 1865 Apataki enjoyed committee meetings. Will be tied up for a long time. What is PRAC going to do for next few months. BchAC clean-ups draw 40-50 people due to nature and keeping beaches clean with 60 kids in classes. Get out stories out to communities through newspapers with more success. Public knowledge wants a larger band stand, We as committee (October 7th Planning Board meeting) process. We can attend and give opinions at meeting. Input from PRAC - Dolores Siegel - have $250,000 for site development plan. Should we start ourselves and not get involved with planning board. We are working on it ourselves, and if want to join will be okay. This is our park. $250,000 set aside to move forward on site development (which was just passed yesterday). AG make a presentation to City Council was changed from architectural services to park improvements. Chair Swiacki Consensus approach City Council on what to do. Member Portu - we have been very clear to stay within Master Plan to update (some modification) with multi-purpose structure. Focus on what we think the park should be. We don't deal with funding, and never have. Only get permission from City Council if we want to proceed. Specific funds for project. Ask City Council on what we want to do. Plan should not change regarding building a hotel. If receive additional funding for our project, focus on what park is going to be. Can CC or CM make it happen. Make Vets Park what community wants. If vision is changed, then PRAC can be involved to discuss. We have clear vision what PRAC and community want. Member Berger - We work on premise of reviewing and using 2009 Master Plan. Move forward and make decision. Member Simon brought to all kinds of organizations, discussed 2009 Master Plan with community and received many opinions. We did a lot of research and spoke to community on amenities. Want clarification on what should be done first. Member Levine stated there was no discussion with PRAC regarding hotel, up to tax paying resident to enter with developer on not. Need to know more information. Chair Swiacki deal with Vets Comm Park itself and stated by Member Portu. Next see what happen at Plan. Bd meeting, PRAC should fovus on what park should look like Add to OLD Business at next meeting Dawn Kuhn - doesn't fit with planning what community wants. Take $250 and hire architect and move forward. Bring up and next October meeting after Planning Board meeting - October 7th. All agreed. Alex Galiana. Add as true agenda item under old business.
