Facilities - Alex Galiana Mackle Park: Completed shuffle board courts, Turf court 1 completed, done Field - irrigation, fertilizer with more to do next mo Installing drinking fountain outside Winterberry Football end last of mo. Converted field for maintenance, Soccer started yesterday for Middle RC finished pickleball court with new surface Vets Comm. Park Tomorrow opening day for Farmers Market Staff replaced railing on restroom trailer c. New Mackle Park Community Center Update - Alex Galiana On schedule, no difference with photos since last mo Poured foundation 8" on concrete, running pipes underground, end of mo. will pour floor foundation d. Veterans Day Celebration - Samantha Malloy Wonderful experience on Saturday with Eagle flying for Veterans Day, Honor to work with committee, VFW and American Legion. Ms. Malloy received great reviews Memorial Day planned with same in attendance Cost for celebration will be forthcoming Island Rocks Flyer - Coastal Breeze advertised Renting tent (10x10) space (8' tables for $275.00) for food vendors (5) COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS None. (6) OLD BUSINESS a. Missing benches at Jane Hittler Park - Alex Galiana AG checked with TP. Benches were ordered. take 30-40 days for installation Member Siegel - install another flag in place at Jane Hittler? AG will check if flag pole is in place. No decision (still under discussion) made per Member Berger. b. Sun Shade at Mackle Park Spray Park - Alex Galiana AG - 4 years ago looked into matter. Went to Collier County Schools, for shades at schools. Maintenance nightmares, take down, schools did away with shelter. Updating Veterans' Community Park 2009 Master Plan Comments: Chair Swiacki stated AG discussed $40,000 was requested at City Council last evening. Was not a definite action to put funds aside or for staff to proceed. AG no clear directive or approval. CC did not deny, still reviewing CP - There was no political view to move forward. Keep on CC, need decision yes/no??. Can we bring up to CC again? Will CM give guidance. AG will get some direction. Take last yr effort to document. Leave as old Business on agenda. CP - if no movement is made from next meeting, suggest joint workshop with CC for discussion. GS - Wait for City Manager to discuss with Chairman, to progress or not. Ask for meeting with CC. CC was hazy in direction. AG go to CM and what CC Chair wants to do. VS - Disappointed CC has not enough information to make decision. AG - Procurement process, unable to delegate to prev. architect, Need RFQ due to amount. What scope of services looking for? CC hazy in direction, Lee Rubenstein - interesting conversation. VS shared original committee with very hard work and approved in 2009. Not redoing plan, its redoing financing for band shell with restrooms, refreshment stand and move forward and get it done. Veterans Day - thanked staff for outstanding job preparing for event. Memorial - Freedom Fountain is completed, sold and done. Granite cleaned and sealed. Cost $368,000 - came from inscriptions from Bob Sargeant. Have $28,000 on hold until hotel in question is clarified $165,000 of unsold pavers left. $683,000 raised, some funds for site development, Public Comment Dawn Kuhn - PRAC has done a great job, not done yet, more forward. Get direction from CM. Have a workshop before next meeting. Invite Manger to next meeting. (7) NEW BUSINESS a. Leigh Plummer Park - Linda Colombo Mr. Colombo represented Calusa Garden Club proposing to authorize & subsidize project for permanent recognition Place large boulder with plaque to enhance park. Dwayne Thomas, resident will donate boulder and installation of granite plaque. Need to find a perfect spot to place it. Quote for plaque is $305.00. 24 x 12 black granite no charge for shipping. Carlos will pay for plaque and get City staff to speed it up. Staff can find a perfect spot. AG - make report and bring to CC for approval with PRAC recommendation. Member Portu - asked when Tim Pinter's quarterly report can be scheduled for next month meeting to discuss parks. Focus on Calusa Park for pavement to add to budget next year. Add to agenda item, recurring agenda item discuss Calusa Park. New bridge - Winn Dixie - Do we have easement to extend to Vets Comm. Park? Ask TP. If park was approved, promenade to get easement from Holiday Inn and Winn Dixie to continue walkway?? No space at this time. AG will check with TP if an easement is allowed along seawall and report back at next December meeting. Find out CM to attend next mo meeting to move forward with $40,000 for Vets Comm. Park. Chair Swiacki will meet with CM this week. Next meeting with CC and move forward.
