Committee
Mackle Park:
Naples parks has shade structures covering play areas (approved by Naples City
Council).
Swings too hot to sit on, or to play
Playground 15 years old, no major upgrades
No shade structure over equipment, current new shade structure too small, does not
cover necessary sunny areas.
Too hot and sunny for kids at Kids Cove playground (tot lot), and younger kids basketball
court.
New shade structures:
During hurricanes: Canopies removable, poles permanent
10 year warranty, with standing 170 mph
Received estimates from three (3) contractors: Leathers & Associates, Creative Shade
Solutions and Bliss
Shade over entire playground: over swing sets, contractor working on now. Consider staff
time to take down and re-install, no specialized tools needed. Need more efficient
