Member Kelly asked to add under OLD BUSINESS, Three-stage proposal at the Racquet Center for City Council. MOTION by Member Siegel, seconded by Member Kuhn to approve the Agenda with the correction. ID 22-2554 PRAC Draft Meeting Minutes for November 15, 2022 MOTION by Member Siegel to Approve the November 15, 2022, Minutes seconded by Member Conner. MOTION CARRIES BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: Yes: 5- Member Conner, Member Kelly, Member Kuhn, Vice-Chair Richards and Member Siegel Not Present: 2- Chair Portu and Member Shagott (6) OLD BUSINESS Three-Phase Proposal Recommendation for Raquet Center City of Marco Island Florida Page 1 Parks and Recreation Advisory Meeting Minutes - Final December 13, 2022 Committee Member Kelly recommended to make a change to the Three-Phase proposal for the Racquet Center. The change would be instead of converting tennis courts 3 and 4, would be to convert tennis courts 7 and 8. There was a consensus of the members in attendance. Member Kuhn would like to remind City Council to keep in mind to look at more green space to purchase. Miguel Carballo, Fleets & Facilities Manager mentioned another option for the Racquet Center building is to instead of demolishing it, is to renovate it and put the Proshop in there. (7) NEW BUSINESS None. (8) STAFF COMMUNICATIONS ID 22-2561 December 2022 Staff Report ID 22-2555 December 2022 Event Calendar ID 22-2563 FFM Monthly Report - November 2022 Natasha Paniccia, Assistant Events Coordinator mentioned on Friday, December 16th is our Holiday Movie in the Park, beginning the festivities with a sing-a-long at Veterans Community Park and Cookies and Milk with Santa, Saturday, December 17 at Mackle Park. Vice-Chair Richards asked how the attendance for the Re-opening day at Veterans Community Park was. Ms. Paniccia replied with about 4000 attendees. Daniel Smith, Community Affairs Director wanted to mention that the facility and grounds held up very well with the amount of people that attended. Vice-Chair Richards asked about the status of the TBE field. Mr. Smith replied that there is an agreement in place between MIA and the City. Miguel Carballo, Fleets & Facilities Manager wanted to add that MIA will be responsible for the lights, in-field, clay area, and fencing. Fleets and Facilities will continue to have the fields fertilized, irrigated, field maintenance, which will done by a vendor, utility bills and mowing of the out-field. Vice-Chair Richards asked how the Farmers Market went. Ms. Paniccia answered that the vendors and community members are happy. Member Conner asked if there are any available spots. Ms. Paniccia replied that we are at capacity with 97 vendors. Vice-Chair Richards asked about the parking at the Farmers Market. City of Marco Island Florida Page 2 Parks and Recreation Advisory Meeting Minutes - Final December 13, 2022 Committee Mr. Smith stated that there weren’t any issues with parking in the parking lot. There is also additional parking across the street at the church. Vice-Chair Richards inquired about shade structures for the park. Mr. Smith stated that this can be put on the next fiscal year’s budget. Member Kuhn inquired about dog stations. Mr. Carballo stated that there are several up as of right now. Member Kuhn asked about the bathroom hours. Ms. Paniccia replied that bathroom hours are the same as Mackle Park including holiday hours/closures. Monday – Friday 8a – 8pm, Saturday 8a – 6 pm and Sunday 9a – 5 pm. (9) PUBLIC COMMENT None. (10) NEXT MEETING: CONFIRMATION & ATTENDANCE Next PRAC Meeting Scheduled for January 17, 2023 at 3:30 pm Vice-Chair Richards asked if everyone will be attending the next PRAC Meeting will be January 17, 2023, at 3:30 pm. All members in attendance will be available. (11) PROPOSED AGENDA TOPICS FOR NEXT MEETING Three-Stage Proposal of Racquet Center for City Council. (12) OTHER COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS None.
