In attendance:
Councilman Perry, Councilman Carter, Councilman Ray,
Councilman Chapman, Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre and Mayor
Howard

Mayor Howard called Meeting to order
Discussion
Mayor Howard asked for approval of minutes for September 24, 2019.
Councilman Perry made the Motion to approve minutes for September 24,
2019. Councilman Ray seconded the Motion. Councilman McIntyre and
Councilman Chapman abstained. Motion passed.
Councilman Perry made the Motion to purchase new furniture for the
New City Hall in the amount of $31,831.03 out of the Court funds.
Councilman Chapman seconded the Motion. The Motion passed
unanimously.
Councilman Chapman made the Motion to purchase a “40” flagpole for
the New City Hall in the amount of $1738.00. The Motion was seconded by
Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre. Motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Ray informed the Council of a business in Birmingham that
sells rustic flags.
Mayor Howard informed the Council that the Health Insurance will
increase in 2020. Individual coverage is going up $20. The Family
coverage is going up $57. Teja Peeples will get more quotes for the Health
Insurance. The Council will revisit Health Insurance topic another day.
Mr. Barker informed the Council that everything for the New City Hall is
pretty much finished and that Corky should have the parking lot finished
with a week.
Councilman Perry informed the Council that he has someone willing to
look at Magnolia for tar and gravel.
Massey Asphalt will be doing the paving from Sunrise entrance to Hillcrest
and the entrance of City Hall.
Mayor Howard informed the Council that he will be opening bids Friday
at 5:00PM for material that will be used to bow under the railroad.
Mayor Howard suggested that the Council think about revisiting the
Impact Fee Ordinance.
Mr. Barker asked about an assessment fee.
Councilman Chapman asked about the goals located in Wilson Park,
because they are not 10ft goals.
Councilman Perry would like an updated status on the other Stop Sign in
Brookhaven.
Councilman Carter had nothing.
Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre had nothing.
Councilman Ray informed the Council that he authorized the removal of
goals at Wilson Park. And that he had a meeting with the new Principal at
Margaret, concerning the Youth Association, so that everyone will be on
the same page.
Bo, a resident of Sunrise Subdivision asked about the status of the
payment to County for roads in Sunrise. Mayor Howard informed him that
this issue is still on hold waiting on our City Attorney.
Councilman Perry made the Motion to adjourn. Councilman Ray seconded
the Motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Ray made the Motion to adjourn. The Motion was seconded
by Councilman Chapman. Motion passed unanimously.
