VILLAGE OF MARQUETTE GREEN LAKE COUNTY, WISCONSIN Regular Meeting Minutes, March 14, 2022 - Village Hall The regular meeting of the Village Board, for the Village of Marquette, was called to order by President Cybul at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call: President – Art Cybul - present Clerk - Julie Powell –present Trustee – Peter Michalos - present Treasurer – Paula Gilbertson – absent Trustee Richard Krueger - present There were 18 citizens in attendance. Social distancing will be enforced and masks are optional. Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings Law: Agenda notice was posted in three public places - Village Hall door, kiosks at the Post Office and Truck Garage, also posted on the Village Website and emailed to Berlin Journal Newspapers. A motion to approve the agenda was made. Michalos /Krueger. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Approval of Minutes sent to Board Members: All minutes are posted on the Village Website and in the kiosks as a draft for the Board and the public to review. No changes made. A motion was made to approve the Regular Board meeting on March 14, 2022 as presented. Krueger/Michalos. Motion passed. (Unanimous). The Treasurer’s report was read by Julie Powell, Clerk. A Motion to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Michalos/Krueger. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Approve Payment of Bills: Presented for payment were vouchers 9360-9375 in the amount of $676.71 plus $4,900.00 for the maintained balance and utilities for a Grand total of $5,576.71. Motion to pay the bills as presented and transfer from the appropriate accounts the amount of $7,000.00 to the General Fund. Krueger/Michalos. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Julie raised the maintenance balance & utilities balance to $2,000.00 instead of $1,000.00 due to some big utility bills due in the beginning of the month before the next board meeting. Meet and Greet Candidates- Each Candidate got to address on how they would benefit the village and an opportunity for the citizens to ask questions to the candidates. Richie Semrow was not present. Citizen Comments – Time Limits and Rules Apply: Gina L. asked if there are any chances to hear Richie Semrow talk about what his plans are for the village if he would be elected for the trustee position since he was not present for the Meet and Greet Candidates. The Berlin Journal Newspaper also is having each candidate fill out a questionnaire to be published in the paper. A citizen mentioned they would like to walk the Village and pick up garbage if anybody else was interested. Janet Burdick asked if the Village Board would consider to move the Citizen Comments to the bottom of the agenda instead of the front. Art said that it would be on the agenda for next month’s meeting. Other comments suggested were having volunteers to walk the Village and pick garbage, cleaning the boat landings from debris, having a truck route for the semi’s and putting out sample lots before the April 5, 2022 election. Discuss / Approve: Cemetery CD due on April 8, 2022, check on terms & rates: The Cemetery CD was taken out for 2 years which would make it due next April, 2023. No action taken. Order Cemetery Veteran’s Flags and POW Flag: Julie will order the 8x12 small flags, 8x12 POW small flags, American Flag, and the POW flag from American Flags by American Legion. After discussion a motion was made to approve ordering the flags. Michalos /Krueger. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Board Reminders/Updates: None Motion to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. Michalos/Krueger.
