VILLAGE OF MARQUETTE GREEN LAKE COUNTY, WISCONSIN Regular Meeting Minutes, September 12, 2022 - Village Hall The regular meeting of the Village Board, for the Village of Marquette, was called to order by President Cybul at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call: President – Art Cybul - present Clerk - Julie Powell –absent Trustee – Peter Michalos - present Treasurer – Paula Gilbertson – present Trustee Tony Deiss- present There were 3 citizens in attendance. Social distancing will be enforced and masks are optional. Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings Law: Agenda notice was posted in three public places - Village Hall door, kiosks at the Post Office and Truck Garage and emailed to Berlin Journal Newspapers. A motion to approve the agenda was made. Michalos /Deiss. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Approval of Minutes sent to Board Members: All minutes are posted on the Village Website and in the kiosks as a draft for the Board and the public to review. A motion was made to approve the Regular Board meeting minutes on August 18, 2022 as presented. Deiss/Michalos. Motion passed. (Unanimous). The Treasurer’s report was read. A Motion to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Deiss/Michalos. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Approve Payment of Bills: Presented for payment were vouchers 9478-9504 in the amount of $24,915.15 plus $5,700.00 for the maintained balance and utilities for a Grand total of $30,615.15. Motion to pay the bills as presented and transfer from the appropriate accounts the amount of $23,200.00 to the General Fund. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Citizen Comments – Time Limits and Rules Apply: Janet Burdick will remove the flags at the cemetery after rain stops. Discuss / Approve: Vote on adjusting Village Clerk to hourly pay: Julie and Deb will temporally share clerk duties. Julie and Deb will be adjusting to $10.00 per hour. After discussion a motion was made to adjust the Village Clerk to $10.00 per hour. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Lawn Mowing Bids: Lawn mowing bids are needed for next year’s budget. Julie will get a hold of Tom Graff for next year’s bid and put an ad in the paper. The bid would include for the Village Hall, Cemetery, Truck Garage, Third St., trim weeds by Charlevoix Street boat landing and sign on KK once a month. Deiss/Michalos. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Set date for Trick or Treating: This year Halloween is on Monday, October 31, 2022. Put posters up in both kiosks, Village Hall door and Post Office. After discussion a motion was made to have Trick or Treating on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Krueger Ditch Culvert Bid: The Village Board received and looked at bids from Kinas, Davis Construction and Green Lake County. Need to make an amendment to the deed for the Village to have the right to have the culvert inspected in future years. After discussion a motion was made to approve the Green Lake County bid estimate on Richard Krueger’s property. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (Unanimous). Board Reminders/Updates: Peter wanted to know when the light pole on Charlevoix Street will be put back up. Peter is waiting to hear from the Green Lake Foundation for grant money for parks. Tony contacted Waste Management to get information for the recycling program. The new information will be posted in the kiosks and also sent out in the tax letter. Tony said the piers will be removed by the end of September and put on the East side of the truck garage. Tony wanted to know if the road petition for Second Street was still in the works. Tony would like the Village to still do it and get the wording from Dan Sondalle. Tony would like to honor the Veteran’s on Veteran’s Day that live in the Village. Tony will find out who they are and what can be done for them. Art has a free app on the Village website that complaints or issues can be reported by taking a picture and sending it by email to the Village. Motion to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. Michalos/Deiss.
