COMMON COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
February 10, 2026 at 6:30 PM
303 Mansion Street Mauston, WI
1. Call to Order/Roll Call: The Common Council meeting was called to order on Tuesday, February
10, 2026, at 6:43 p.m. by Mayor Darryl Teske. Members present were Jim Allaby, Barb Hoilien,
Mary Bender, Kayla Thomas, and Casey Radcliff. Also present were City Administrator Daron
Haugh, Public Works Director Rob Nelson, and Deputy Clerk Carole Wolff. Absent were Vivian
Gabower and Leanna Hagen.
2. Pledge of Allegiance: Mayor Teske led the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. Minutes: Motion by Thomas, seconded by Bender, to approve the minutes of January 27, 2026.
Motion carried by voice vote.
4. Citizens Address to the Council: None
5. Reports from Committees, Boards, and Commissions: None
6. Reports from Committees, Boards, and Commissions
a. Change of Agent for Burton-Koppang American Legion Post 81 was tabled until February 24,
2026
7. Public Works Committee Report
a. Public Works Truck Bids: Motion by Thomas, seconded by Hoilien, to approve the Ewald
Dodge Ram quote in the amount of $40,809.00. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
8. Finance and Purchasing Committee Report
a. Vouchers: Motion by Radcliff, seconded by Hoilien, to approve vouchers in the amount of
$516,524.80. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
b. Revised 2026 Fee Schedule: Motion by Radcliff, seconded by Hoilien, to approve the revised
2026 Fee Schedule. Motion carried by voice vote.
9. Fire Chief's Report
a. January Report: Assistant Fire Chief Rob Nelson reviewed the January report, noting that the
brush truck is nearly complete and that the month consisted primarily of routine calls and
activities.
10. City Council Report: Alderperson Hoilien raised concerns regarding residents calling about
shoveling on Main Street. Discussion followed regarding the enforcement process. When a
property is tagged for a shoveling violation, the resident has seventy-two (72) hours to correct the
issue. If the walkway is not cleared within that timeframe, a citation is issued. Alderperson Bender
inquired whether the recent ordinance violation list was organized by ward; it is not.
11. Mayor's Report: Nothing to report.
12. City Administrator's Report
a. Increase of Council and Mayor Salaries: Motion by Thomas, seconded by Allaby, to approve
the salary increase. Administrator Haugh noted that the increase will commence upon term
renewal. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
13. Adjourn: Motion by Hoilien, seconded by Allaby, to adjourn. Motion carried by voice vote. Meeting
adjourned at 6:56 p.m.
