POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES November 20, 2025 at 5:00 PM 303 Mansion Street Mauston, WI 1. Call to Order/Roll Call: The Police and Fire Commission met on November 20, 2025, in the Council Chambers at Mauston City Hall. Chair Brian McGuire called the meeting to order at 5:36 p.m. Members present were Jack Hammer, Gary Purvis, Brian McGuire and Deborah Shuman. Absent was Katie Gruman. Also present was Police Chief Mike Zilisch. 2. Minutes: Motion by McGuire, seconded by Shuman, to approve the minutes of October 23, 2025. Motion carried by voice vote. 3. Financial Report: Motion by Purvis, seconded by Hammer, to approve the November financial report as presented. Motion carried by voice vote. 4. Fire Chief's Report: The calls for service in October 2025 were reviewed. There were five (5) calls within the City, four (4) calls in the rural area, and one (1) mutual aid call, for a total of ten (10) calls in October. The Fire Department also conducted two (2) training drills, participated in Fire Prevention Week activities, provided safety coverage for a demolition derby, participated in the Mauston High School Job Fair, and conducted public outreach during trick-or-treat hours. Motion by McGuire, seconded by Shuman, to approve the Fire Chief’s written report. Motion carried by voice vote. 5. Police Chief's Report: The October 2025 statistical report was reviewed and explained. Total calls for service in October 2025 were 1,698, compared to 1,267 in October 2024. Last month, there were 1,668 calls. Chief Zilisch informed the PFC of routine tasks and trainings completed. Motion by Purvis, seconded by Hammer, to approve the Police Chief’s report. Motion carried by voice vote. 6. Adjourn: Motion by McGuire, seconded by Purvis, to adjourn. Motion carried by voice vote.
