SPECIAL MEETING OF THE POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MINUTES August 07, 2024 at 5:30 PM 303 Mansion Street Mauston, WI 1. Call to Order/Roll Call- The Police and Fire Commission held a special meeting on August 7, 2024, in the Council Chambers of Mauston City Hall. Hammer called the meeting to order at 5:38 p.m. The members present were Jack Hammer, Katie Gruman (arrived at 6:00 pm), Deborah Shuman, and Gary Purvis. Absent was Brian McGuire. Also present were Police Chief Mike Zilisch, Police Sergeants Eric Sanner and Brandon Arenz, and City Administrator Daron Haugh. 2. Closed Session- Hammer/Purvis motioned to go into closed session under Wisconsin State Statute 19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. The motion carried on a unanimous roll call vote. The closed Session began at 5:39 p.m. Police Officer Interview 3. Reconvene in Open Session- Hammer/Purvis to move into Open Session at 6:16 p.m. Motion carried on voice vote 4. Discussion and Action as a Result of Closed Session Matters- Hammer/Shuman motioned to recommend to Chief Zilisch that he continue with the hiring process. The motion carried on a voice vote. 5.
