OFFICIAL COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin, was held in open session on June 20, 2022, and called to order by Mayor Knaack at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The following members were present: McCullough, Yonko, Schwebs, Sommerfeld, Solberg, Schlough, Sutherland and Erdman. Chase and Burstad were absent. MOTION made by Erdman, seconded by Yonko, and carried to approve the minutes of the June 6, 2022 council meeting. PUBLIC HEARING – None PUBLIC COMMENTS – Travis Joncas was present as the new owner of Junction Liquor, LLC to answer any questions from the council regarding their application for a new liquor license. MOTION made by McCullough, seconded by Schwebs and carried unanimously to approve the resolution for the 2021 Sewer Utility Compliance Maintenance Annual Report (CMAR). MOTION made by Schlough, seconded by Yonko, and carried unanimously to approve the special events from Menomonie Alliance Church, the Menomonie Blue Caps and the Menomonie Police Department as presented. MOTION made by Schlough, seconded by Sutherland, and carried unanimously on a roll call vote to approve the Menomonie Police Department’s software contract with Cordata as presented. MOTION made by Solberg, seconded by Sommerfeld, and carried unanimously on a roll call vote to approve the Menomonie Police Department’s software contract with Central Square as presented. MOTION made by McCullough, seconded by Schwebs, and carried unanimously on a roll call vote to approve the Menomonie Police Department’s software contract with Homeland as presented. MOTION made by McCullough, seconded by Solberg, and carried unanimously to approve the Fire Department’s request to sell surplus equipment as presented. MOTION made by Erdman, seconded by Yonko and carried unanimously to approve the appointment of Councilmember Sommerfeld to the Board of Review for the current term. BUDGET TRANSFERS – None. MAYOR’S REPORT – Mayor Knaack announced the start of the road construction project on Stout Road. Mayor Knaack shared with Council that there is an Energy Fair on June 24-26th, 2022 in Custer, WI and encouraged Councilmembers to attend. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS – Public Works Director, Randy Eide expanded on the details of the road construction project on Stout Road, announcing that Chippewa Concrete is ready to commence work, first on the curbs and that residents have been notified. Eide also informed Council that there are weekly meetings being held on Thursdays for status updates on the project. MOTION to convene in closed session under Wisconsin Statues 19.85(1) (e), for the purpose of deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session, was made by Solberg, seconded by McCullough, and carried unanimously on a roll call vote. MOTION to reconvene in open session under Wisconsin Statutes 19.85 (2) was made by Erdman, seconded by Sutherland, and carried unanimously on a roll call vote.
