OFFICIAL COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin, was held in open session on December 19, 2022, and called to order by Mayor Knaack at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The following members were present: Chase, Burstad, Yonko, Sutherland, McCullough, Schwebs, Solberg, Schlough, Erdman and Sommerfeld. PUBLIC HEARING – None PUBLIC COMMENTS – None MOTION made by Erdman, seconded by Schlough, and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of the December 5th, 2022 council meeting. MOTION made by Schwebs, seconded by Burstad, and carried unanimously to approve the amendment to the October 3rd, 2022 minutes to reflect that the recipient of the Wolske Bay holiday display funding be revised to “Menomonie Christmas Lights Display”. MOTION made by Sommerfeld, seconded by Chase, and carried unanimously to approve the Ribbon Cutting and open house at Wolske Bay for a Holiday Light Display on December 22, 2022 from 4-9pm, with a backup date of 12/29/2022. MOTION made by Burstad, seconded by Solberg, and carried unanimously to approve the 2023 bond construction fund budget as presented. RESOLUTION - MOTION made by McCullough, seconded by Erdman, and carried to approve the Menomonie Public Library’s application and submission of a WEDC Vibrant Spaces grant as presented. MOTION made by Burstad, seconded by Sutherland, and carried unanimously to approve the 2023 revised fee schedule for the Recreation Department. MOTION made by Solberg, seconded by Sutherland, and carried unanimously on roll call vote, to approve a $1,500 tools supplies budget transfer for the Fire Department, an $1,850 training materials budget transfer for the Fire Department, and $1,000 Contingency account budget transfer to the Advertising & Promotions line item 01.56350.426. MAYOR’S REPORT – Mayor Knaack gave his report on upcoming community events including the holiday light party at Wolske Bay on December 22nd, with a backup date of December 29th, and invited the Menomonie community to attend. The Mayor also mentioned that there will be a retirement party for Randy Eide on January 11th, 2023. Lastly, the Mayor encouraged council members to present goals/projects for the city looking towards the future. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS – Randy Eide shared that Menomonie has maintained its designation as a Bicycle Friendly Community at the Bronze level and that on March 9, 2023, UW-Stout will be hosting the annual Red Cedar Watershed conference.
