Page 1 of 2 Public Art Committee Minutes – January 16, 2025 Committee members are using the CaFE platform for judging. The committee discussed artists that interested them the most for this project and artists that could be considered for other projects. The committee agreed to move artists who scored 1.5 or higher to the second round of review, which will use a scale of 1-7 for judging. Council members are participating in the judging process to provide input as part of discussion but they will not vote on the finalist. The large quantity of applications to review gave the committee insights on the benefits of starting a project with a more narrow focus in the future. 2. City Updates The Hearts Across Merriam program launched, and community members have enthusiastically participated. Staff created a schedule of where hearts will be hidden each month to help guide the community in the search. Two new murals are incorporated in the public space of Merriam Grand Station project. 3. Other Items from the Floor No items. V. ADJOURNMENT There being no other items to consider, the meeting adjourned at 7:13 p.m. Page 2 of 2
