Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Village Hall, 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola, New York 11501.

Resolved to approve a request by the Mineola Chamber of Commerce to conduct the Mineola
Street Fair on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Jericho Turnpike from
the east side of Mineola Boulevard to Nassau Boulevard, and Willis Avenue between
Washington Avenue and Linden Road. (Rain date is October 12, 2025)

to the Sanitation Division of the Department of Public Works. Workdays and hours are
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with his salary remaining the same.

Superintendent of Buildings Liam P. O’Keefe presented a report on permits issued in May
2025, as well as a fiscal year report, and discussed the importance of property maintenance
by residents and commercial businesses.
Mayor Pereira announced the many events taking place in June including the Portuguese-
American Feast from June 6 through June 8, the Portugal Day flag raising on June 6, the
Portugal Day parade on June 8, the first Concert in the Park featuring Who’s Next on June
13, the opening of the John S. DaVanzo Community Pool on June 14, Troop 45’s annual
Father’s Day pancake breakfast on June 15, the Concert in the Park featuring Lovesong on
June 20, and the Mineola Arts Festival on June 21.

Trustee Paul S. Cusato discussed the Memorial Day parade and ceremony, thanking those who
attended, the committee for organizing the event, the Mineola Chamber of Commerce for dis-
tributing American flags to spectators, and Chaminade High School for displaying American
flags along Jericho Turnpike. Trustee Cusato congratulated the Mineola High School varsity
softball team for winning the Nassau County Class A Championship, adding that the last time
the softball team earned the title was in 1998 when his daughter was part of the team.
Trustee Jeffrey M. Clark thanked the Memorial Day committee for their hard work organizing
a great event and thanked the Department of Public Works for cleaning the parks, so they are
ready for summer.
Trustee Donna M. Solosky encouraged residents to partake in the many events the Village has
to offer.
Mayor Paul A. Pereira congratulated Troop 200’s newest Eagle Scouts, Thomas Farmer,
Andrew Vacchiano, and Diego Mejia-Manzano, stated that Troop 45 will have an Eagle Scout
ceremony next week, thanked Troop 45 for organizing the Memorial Day parade along with
the Mineola Fire Department, announced upcoming events including the Portugal Day flag
raising, the Portuguese-American feast, the Portugal Day parade, two Concerts in the Park, the
Mineola Arts Festival, and the pool opening on June 14. Mayor Pereira announced that NYU
Langone will have a farmers market on several Thursdays over the next few months beginning
on June 12, and congratulated Court Clerk Elizabeth Bernardes who was named Nassau
County Court Clerk of the Year.
