Resolution No. 277-25
Resolved to approve a request by Corpus Christi Church to use Village streets for a Devotional
Procession on Monday, October 13, 2025 from approximately 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM utilizing
following route:
• Garfield Avenue east to Willis Avenue
• South on Willis Avenue to First Street
• Turn around (U turn) North on Willis Avenue to Garfield Avenue
• West on Garfield Avenue to starting place at the Church

Superintendent of Buildings Liam P. O’Keefe presented a report on permits issued in
September 2025, gave an update on 111 Second Street and 155 First Street, and stated that
his two new employees are working out well.
Mayor Paul A. Pereira requested a motion to close the Work Session at 7:03 PM.

Mayor Paul A. Pereira called the Public Meeting to order at 7:03 PM.

Mayor Paul A. Pereira announced that there will be several public hearings next Wednesday,
October 15, discussed the tremendous success of the Mineola Street Fair and thanked the
Chamber of Commerce for making it the biggest and best street fair ever, stated that the last

Concert in the Park featuring a U2 tribute band was held September 24, thanked Legislator
Scott Strauss for funding one of the concerts, and encouraged residents to attend the Italian
Flag Raising Ceremony on Friday, October 10 at 5:00 PM in front of Mineola Fire Department
headquarters. Mayor Pereira reminded residents that Monday, October 13 is Columbus Day
and there will be a holiday sanitation schedule in effect that week, stated that he attended a
ribbon cutting ceremony for The Arena as well as Italian Night at the Knights of Columbus.
Deputy Mayor Janine Sartori stated that she attended the Chamber of Commerce’s women’s
networking event where a panel of several female entrepreneurs discussed all kinds of issues
from setting up the right corporate legal structure to how to manage the demands of having a
woman-owned business. Deputy Mayor Sartori stated that it was truly a great event and she
looks forward to attending more of them in the future.
Trustee Paul S. Cusato stated that the Street Fair was a great success, congratulated the Mineola
Historical Society’s Legacy Award Winners including Cassidy’s Funeral Home, Windsor
Fuel, Ardito’s Deli, Franwin Pharmacy and Smith & DeGroat, discussed the Mineola Fire
Department’s open house, and commented that the food at the Irish American Society was
delicious.
Trustee Jeffrey M. Clark commented that there was a great crowd at the street fair and
congratulated the Chamber of Commerce.
Trustee Donna M. Solosky discussed the street fair and announced that the Mineola Fall
Festival will be held on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19 from 12:00 PM to 6:00
PM in Mineola Memorial Park, and announced that the Village Halloween Party will be held
on Friday, October 24 at 6:00 PM in the Village Hall community center.
