CITY OF MINERAL POINT BICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE MEETING Thursday, October 16, 2025 – 6:00 PM Chamber Office Agenda: 1. Call to Order, Roll Call (Mike Christensen, Cory Bennett, Lauren Powers, Frank Beaman, Christina Kubasta in attendance) 2. Approved minutes from Aug 20 meeting 3. Status of website, Facebook events, calendar, dedicated email, collection of funds a. Cory has created the Facebook page – Mineral Point Bicentennial Celebration b. Collection of funds can go through the Mineral Point Chamber Foundation (a 501(c)3) c. Webpage off the mineralpoint.com website is built but not live, pending Bill Webb’s review d. Cory is working through creating a separate calendar on the Chamber website i. Events – pick a weekend each month for orgs to collaborate together, work off of events that we’re already doing and doing well ii. We established a high level event calendar for a main weekend each month to focus on 4. Anthology update a. Ron Dunbar & Justin O’Brian to join Frank in production b. We have 14 completed entries and 200 leads for more material; to set deadline for submissions c. Black & white with a little color on cover only (price consideration) d. Frank to donate $2000 to cover expenses on first printing of approx. 300 copies. 5. Governor/State Rep invite update a. Mike is waiting until after November election to reach out to local reps 6. Logo design & commemorative coin a. Christina spoke with Mr. Hadfield regarding a student project to develop a logo, and he is receptive for a spring 2026 project. We need to establish parameters for each side of the coin (one side our history, the other side is our present/future) b. Coin to possibly be minted summer/fall 2026 c. Additional merch (t-shirts, pins, hats) 7. City Decorations, Water Tower a. Projection on side of water tower? b. Dick Poad: he is contacting engineer/manufacturer of downtown light poles 8. Time capsule a. Sponsored by Historical Society? Incorporate with a weekend 9. Business Sponsorships & Grant Writing a. Christina talking with Pocan rep on possible grants/funding 10. Set next agenda and meeting time & adjourn a. Create timeline/goals b. Settle on slogan c. Work on communication for orgs (launch calendar, etc) d. Next meeting time at 6:00 on Monday, Nov 17 e.
