CITY OF MINERAL POINT COMMON COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, January 13, 2026 – 6:00 PM

CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Meeting called to order by Mayor Clark at 6:00 PM.

PERSONS DESIRING TO BE HEARD – Michael Goff, Pattern Energy – Promised the board that a map would be
provided in regards to where they are siting. Copies will be handed out.
MAYOR’S CORRESPONDENCE – Mayor Clark recognized Emergency Services Day on January 6. He
expressed his gratitude to the Mineral Point Fire Department, Mineral Point EMS, and Mineral Point Police
Department, and held a moment of silence in remembrance of Captain Brian Busch and Firefighter Jim Ludlum.
ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT – None.
CLERK-TREASURER’S CORRESPONDENCE – Skelding stated that nomination papers have been turned in for
the Spring Election. All City Council incumbents are re-running for their seat, and the Mayor is re-running for his
seat.
CONSENT AGENDA
a. Approval of December 9, 2025 Minutes and Proceedings.
b. Approval of monthly bills.
The Finance Committee recommends approval of the monthly bills.
Motion (Allendorf/Christensen) to approve the consent agenda as presented. Motion carried, all voting aye (6-
0).
NEW BUSINESS
CONSIDERATION OF 2026-2030 CITY OF MINERAL POINT STRATEGIC PLAN – TROY MAGGIED,
SWWRPC
Troy Maggied, Southwest Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, stated there were no changes from the draft
version of the Strategic Plan.
Motion (Allendorf/Ramshur) to adopt the 2026-2030 City of Mineral Point Strategic Plan. Motion carried, all
voting aye (6-0).
PRESENTATION ON CITY OF MINERAL POINT HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION – MATTHEW
PAYNE, HPC CHAIR
Matthew Payne, Chair of the Historic Preservation Commission, presented to Council members on what the purpose
of the Historic Preservation Commission is in the city.
CONSIDERATION OF PAY APPLICATION #1 FROM G-PRO EXCAVATING, LLC FOR CORNISH PARK
REVITALIZATION PROJECT.
The Finance Committee recommends approval.

The sidewalk has a drainage issue. The contractor has verbally agreed to fix the issue in the spring.
Motion (Ramshur/Christensen) to approve Pay Application #1 from G-Pro Excavating, LLC for the Cornish
Park Revitalization project. Motion carried, all voting aye (6-0).
