Others Present: City Manager, City Clerk, City Attorney, Finance Director, Airport Director, Airport Operations Supervisor, Airport Engineer. To the Honorable Mayor and All Aldermen: Following are the recommendations from the Airport Committee meeting called to order at 4:15 p.m., January 30, 2012: 1. That the City Council authorize the purchase of property from the Busek Family Real Estate Partnership for the purpose of a runway protection zone, located directly east of the airport at the end of Runway 8 (known as SE1/4, Section 7-155-82 less Outlot 1, less county highway); further, place and pass an ordinance amending the 2012 Airport budget in the amount of $1,459,370 for the purchase of the property on first reading; and further, authorize the Mayor to sign all documents related to this acquisition. ********** The above motion by Alderman Lehner and seconded by Alderman Knudsvig and carried unanimously. 2. That the City Council approve the project closeout for the General Aviation Ramp AIP 3-38-0037-034, further, authorize the final payment to Strata Corporation in the amount of $5,672.80, and further, authorize the Mayor to sign the final project documents on the City’s behalf. ********** The above motion by Member Rued, seconded by Alderman Knudsvig and carried unanimously. AIRPORT COMMITTEE January 30, 2012 Page 2 3. That the City Council declare the bid by Strata Corporation as the lowest and best bid for the Taxiway ‘C’ Reconstruction project in the amount of $4,297,102.55; further, authorize a contract with Kadrmas, Lee, and Jackson, Inc. for engineering/architecture construction, administrative and closeout services in the amount of $238,816; and further, authorize the Mayor to sign the contracts on the City’s behalf. ********** The above motion by Alderman Frey, seconded by Alderman Seymour and carried unanimously. 4. That the City Council authorize the Airport Director to advertise a request for proposals for cleaning/janitorial services for the Minot International Airport Terminal Building. ********** The above motion by Alderman Knudsvig, seconded by Alderman Lehner and carried unanimously.
