To the Honorable Mayor and All Aldermen: Following are the recommendations from the Airport Committee meeting called to order at 4:33 p.m., October 29, 2013: 1. The City Council approve final closeout of the Minot International Airport PFC #06 which include Runway 13-31 reconstruction, Land Avigation Easements, Friction Measuring Equipment, Installation of Airport Perimeter Fencing, Preparation of PFC Application and Amendments, Snow Removal Equipment, Construction of 48” Storm Sewer; and authorize the Mayor to sign any closeout documents. ********** The above motion by Alderman Lehner, seconded by Member Frey and carried unanimously. ********** General Information The Airport Director appeared to update the Committee on current projects at the Minot International Airport. He stated the snow removal equipment facility is mostly completed with a few final touches needed and is in operation. Taxiway D has just a few minor items to be completed. Completion of the Aero Center Hanger Project is on hold until Spring 2014, awaiting the design of the entrance walkway; however, aircraft are being stored in the facility. The Dakota Air Museum has recently received new blacktop in addition to the noncommissioned F-15 display from the United States Air Force. He continued with an update on the terminal project. He stated the construction company has started moving dirt to level the site. They have a three months schedule in place at this time, depending on weather conditions. According to this schedule Graham Construction hopes to start foundation work and the rough-in of utilities the second week of November. If construction is impacted by weather conditions, the schedule will AIRPORT COMMITTEE October 29, 2013 Page 2 need to be considered on a day to day basis. The contract for Graham Construction is good through December 2015, well past the anticipated project completion of Fall 2015. He concluded with an update of the airline schedule for Frontier Airlines. Frontier currently flies four times a week. In January, they will include overnight flights. The Airport Director also commented there should not be any anticipated deicing equipment issues this winter.
