July 18, 2014 MINOT CITY COUNCIL - SPECIAL MEETING ROLL CALL: Members Present: Berg, Frantsvog, Frey, Hatlelid, Jantzer, Lehner, B. Miller, M. Miller, Moen, Olson, Pankow, Schuler.. Members Absent: Connole, Seymour, Mayor Barney Council President Jantzer presiding. CONFIRMATION OF CITY MANAGER APPOINTMENT – LEE STAAB - APPROVED Alderman Hatlelid moved the City Council approve the appointment of Lee Staab for the position of Minot City Manager; and further approve the contract terms negotiated by Council President Mark Jantzer. Motion seconded by Alderman Frantsvog and was carried by the following roll call vote: ayes: Berg, Frantsvog, Frey, Hatlelid, Jantzer, Lehner, B. Miller, M. Miller, Moen, Olson, Pankow, Schuler. nays: none. RESOLUTION NO. 3319 - DECLARE FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR CITY OF MINOT - APPROVED Alderman Frantsvog moved the City Council adopt Resolution No. 3319 to declare a flood emergency for the City of Minot. Motion seconded by Alderman Lehner. The Public Works Director stated the Emergency Declaration is due to the June rain event. The declaration is being issued for repairs that need to be done for the sewer system which was affected by flooding in Puppy Dog Coulee. He also stated the declaration makes the City eligible for federal and state emergency funding. Upon questioning by Alderman Frey, Public Works Director Jonasson reported that Lake Darling has lowered water releases to below 500 CFS. He concluded by saying, releases from the dam should be minimal or stopped within the next couple of weeks. Whereupon a vote was taken on the original motion by Alderman Frantsvog, seconded by Alderman Lehner and was carried by the following roll call vote: ayes: Berg, Frantsvog, Frey, Hatlelid, Jantzer, Lehner, B. Miller, M. Miller, Moen, Olson, Pankow, Schuler. nays: none. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, Alderman B. Miller moved that the meeting be adjourned.
