MINUTES PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION Regular Meeting Thursday, June 21, 2012 Special Time - 5:00 PM COUNCIL CHAMBER, FEW MEMORIAL HALL OF RECORDS MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA Commissioners Present: Baldwin, Canepa, McCarthy, Menendez-Herbst, Perske Commissioners Absent: Marotta, Woodward Staff Members Present: Community Services and Library Director Kim Bui-Burton, Recreation and Community Services Manager Cindy Vierra, Park Operations Manager Louie Marcuzzo, Recording Secretary Teresa Nash Public Present: Sharon Dwight, Bill and Pat Donovan, Doug Stafford FIELD TRIP 1. Tour of Park Facilities for June 2012 Action: The Commission toured park facilities with current or upcoming projects. The Parks and Recreation Commission visited the following sites:  Archer Park  Oak Newton Park  Recreation Trail “B”  Scholze Park  Jacks Park  El Estero Lake  Monterey Bay Park  Sollecito Ball Park  Dennis the Menace Park  Deer Flats Park  Casanova Oak Knoll Park  Ryan Ranch Community Park The Commission returned to the Recreation Administration office at 546 Dutra Street, Monterey, California at 6:50 p.m. PUBLIC COMMENTS None. INFORMATIONAL REPORTS & STAFF COMMENTS 2. 4th of July Celebration 2012 3. Monthly Report - Recreation Division - May 2012 4. Monthly Report - Parks Division - May 2012 Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes Thursday, June 21, 2012 NEXT MEETING Thursday, July 19,2012  The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission is Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m. upon return to City Hall. Tour of Park Facilities for June 2012 CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL PUBLIC COMMENTS PUBLIC COMMENTS allows you, the public, to speak for a maximum of three minutes on any subject which is within the jurisdiction of the Monterey Parks and Recreation Commission and which is not on the agenda. Any person or group desiring to bring an item to the attention of the Commission may do so during Public Comments or by addressing a letter of explanation to: Recreation and Community Services Director, 546 Dutra Street, Monterey CA 93940. The appropriate staff person will contact the sender concerning the details. In addition, a Commissioner may provide a referral to staff or other resources for factual information, request staff to report back to the body at a subsequent meeting concerning any City matter, or direct staff to place a request to agendize a matter of business on a future agenda.
