Central Vermont Public Safety Authority Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce Building May 7, 2015 Meeting Minutes – Draft Directors present: Kim Cheney, Douglas Hoyt and Alexandra Pastor – at large directors; Martin Prevost and Michael Smith representing Barre City; Dona Bate and Tom Golonka representing Montpelier. Directors absent: None Others attending: Tim Bombardier; Nick Bresette; Mike Charbonneau; David Delcore, Times Argus reporter; Tony Facos; Bob Gowans; David Rubalcaba; Bob Sager, Board Treasurer; Azailiah Tautfest; Zack Tillinghast. The meeting was called to order by Tom at 6:34pm. A motion to approve the agenda as presented was made by Dona, seconded by Kim. Motion passed. A motion to approve the minutes from the April 2nd meeting as presented was made by Dona, seconded by Kim. Motion passed. Tom welcomed the Board’s newest director, Martin Prevost, an appointed member from Barre City, and offered him a chance to introduce himself to the Board. The Board discussed the recent visit to Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid Association dispatch center in Laconia, NH on April 30th by directors Kim, Dona and, Michael as well as board Treasurer Bob Sager. Michael gave a brief report from his notes with the other visitors adding their thoughts. The Board had a substantial discussion regarding the Executive Director search including: the committee process to date; the involvement of interested parties (department chiefs and union representatives) in the interview process; and the schedule for the upcoming interviews of the three finalists on the 21st. A motion to reimburse Kim for driving to the Lakes Region Mutual Aid Association dispatch center on April 30th was made by Alexandra, seconded by Michael. Motion passed. The Board determined that premature open discussion of the three final candidates would be detrimental to both the candidates as well as to the Board process; therefore, a motion to go into executive session to discuss the final three candidates for the Executive Director position was made by Dona, seconded by Kim. Motion passed. The Board went into executive session at 7:23pm. A motion to come out of executive session was made by Kim, seconded by Dona.
