MONTPELIER RECREATION DEPARTMENT’S ADVISORY BOARD MEETING October 13, 2014 Attending Board Members: Buzz Surwillo, Andrea Talentino, Karlynn Koeneman, Aubrey Boyles. Absent Board Members: Ena Backus, Tom Golonka (City Council), Susan Aldrich (School Board) Attending Rec. Department: Arne McMullen, Director. Called to order 5:25 Passed out information on five years of Budget and Revenues. Had a discussion about the upcoming budget and the challenge we have ahead of us if we want to level fund. I handed out a starting budget for everyone to look at and have a discussion on what direction we are looking to go. The board looked over the hand outs and made some suggestions of looking for possible areas in the budget to look for reductions. The board recommended putting back $10,000.00 from the fund balance to help offset the increases. The board asked me to look for other possibilities to keep the FY 16 budget down as much as possible. We will have our next meeting on October 20, 2014 to see what other possibilities we find. Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
