Department Report September 2020  Chief Juntunen reported 284 calls for service in September 2020. The police department has spent a significant amount of time at MSOP with some larger cases progressing.  Chief Juntunen explained that the drug buy back will be picked up at the end of the month.  Chief Juntunen reported that he continues to work with the local ATV groups to determine the best routes for ATV riders to take throughout the City of Moose Lake. B. Public Works Superintendent Report   The water department distributed 3.9 million gallons of drinking water in the month of September. The hydrant flushing has been complete and is ready for winter. The wellhouse construction is under way and is going well.  The sewer department collected 10.2 million gallons of wastewater in the month of September. The fall discharge will be completed at the end of October. Superintendent Entner was nominated to interview for the MPCA for their newsletter to discuss the sewer lining and the differences that we have noticed thus far.  The street department did monthly pot hole filling as well as paved 5th Street and Hickory Ave.  The cemetery and campgrounds are winterized and ready for winter. C. Technology / Library Report  No update. D. City Engineer  City Administrator Bloom reported that excavation began on the wellhouse site, where they found an old basement to the superintendent’s home. A change order will come at a future date for the additional work.  City Administrator Bloom submitted two grants for the sealing of our old city wells during September and October. We are waiting on the results of those before we begin working sealing them.  City Administrator Bloom explained that we are waiting on a contract from the DNR for the Soo Line Trail Reconstruction before work can begin. E. Chamber of Commerce Updates.  Allison Jones reported that the virtual golf event was a success in September and the annual raffle drawing will be held on Saturday, October 21. 5. General Election Canvas  A special meeting will be held on November 12, at 4:00 p.m. to canvas the election results. D. Community Center A/C Unit Replacement  Motion to approve Region Electric’s quote for replacing the air conditioner unit of $9,224.00 by Councilor Juntunen, seconded by Councilor Sarvela. Vote: Yes – Sarvela, Juntunen, Lower. No – 0. G. Boss Plow Quotes  Motion to approve the quote from Northwoods in the amount of $4,465 by Councilor Juntunen, seconded by Councilor Sarvela. J. Ken Larson – Terra Cotta Arch   Ken Larson presented what he and his wife have done for maintenance and what should be done going forward on the terra cotta arch that was installed outside of the Moose Lake Public Library. 7.
