TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS AUGUST 26, 2024 MINUTES STAFF REPORT Present: Stephen Wood, Chair, Giles Branch, Megan Stevens, Aaron Butner, Molly Hall, Elliott Barrow (entered at 6:03 pm). Absent: Julian Hopkins. Staff: Kara Browder, Lynnette Lynes Mr. Wood called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. A. Approval of Agenda Mr. Butner moved for approval of the agenda. Mr. Branch seconded the motion. All in favor. B. Approval of Minutes Ms. Stevens moved for approval of the minutes. Ms. Hall seconded the motion. All in favor. C. Public Comment D. General Correspondence There being no comments or correspondence, Mr. Wood continued with the agenda. E. Explanation of Procedures F. Administration of Oath Mr. Wood reviewed the procedures with the public and administered the oath to those speaking. Mr. Barrow entered at this time (6:03 pm).  Board of Zoning Appeals August 26, 2024 Page 2 of 2 G. Business 1. Case V-33-24, 1464 Kinglet Drive, TMS# 560-12-00-028 . Request for relief from §156.111(A)(5) to allow an accessory building to exceed the maximum height requirement by 5-feet 3-inches. Ms. Browder reviewed staff comments with the Board. Ms. Jodi Crosby, Crosby Creations, reviewed the request with the Board. Being no comments, Mr. Wood moved to Board questions. Ms. Crosby requested a deferral in order to provide additional information requested. Mr. Barrow moved for denial of the deferral request. Mr. Wood seconded the motion. Motion failed on a 2 to 4 vote with Mr. Barrow and Mr. Wood in favor; Mr. Butner, Mr. Branch, Ms. Stevens, and Ms. Hall opposed. Mr. Branch moved for approval of the request for deferral for 60 days. Mr. Butner seconded the motion. Motion passed on a 4 to 2 vote with Mr. Butner, Mr. Branch, Ms. Stevens, and Ms. Hall in favor; Mr. Barrow and Mr. Wood opposed.
