A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON CITY COUNCIL HELD
ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2022. Scheduled for 4:00 pm. In the City Council
Chambers City Hall, Mount Vernon, New York.
PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE ANNUAL
BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2022 and any other such business as prescribed.
*** Due to the ongoing pandemic this meeting was held in the council chambers, with virtual
participation via ZOOM and CMVNY Facebook. The meeting was not closed to the public
however, the maximum number of in-person occupant was limited ***
PRESENT: Danielle Browne Esq., Cathlin Gleason (via zoom), Edward Poteat (via zoom)
ABSENT: Lisa A. Copeland
PRESIDING: Derrick Thompson, President
OTHERS: Tanesia M. Walters, Deputy City Clerk, Elias Gootzeit, Legislative Assistant and
Brian G. Johnson, Corporation Counsel
Council President Derrick Thompson called the meeting to order and he announced that this was
a special meeting. He then asked Deputy City Clerk Tanesia M. Walters to read the call of the
Meeting. Deputy Clerk Walters read the call of the meeting. Council President Thompson lead
the council in the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL administered by Deputy City Clerk Tanesia M. Walters.

The FINANCE AND PLANNING COMMITTE recommends for ADOPTION the following
entitled legislation:
Item No. 1 An ordinance adopting the Annual Budget for the year 2022.

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE
I ANNUAL BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2022
WHEREAS, on February 8, 2022, the Board of Estimate and
Contract directed that the Annual Estimate for the year 2022 be submitted to
the City Council, which said Estimate was submitted to and received by this
City Council; and
WHEREAS, on February 22, 2022, the City Council held a public
hearing and extended the opportunity of being heard in reference to said
Estimate to those persons who wished to be heard; NOW, THEREFORE,
The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby
ordain and enact:
Section 1. The Annual Estimate for the year 2022, submitted by
the Board of Estimate and Contract, is hereby adopted as follows:

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
