ADJOURNMENT COMMITTEE MEETING Finance & Parks and Enrichment Services 6:00 p.m. Next Ordinance 3893 Next Resolution 1056  CONSENT ITEM: D DATE: May 22, 2024 TO: Mayor Donovan and City Council FROM: Mary Thomas, Information Technology Director SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF 2024 BUDGETED STONEFLY XD RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approval to purchase the Stonefly XD 60 Bay Appliance for Backup and Recovery INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND: As part of the 2024 Budget the Network Operations Department identified a Backup and Recovery Storage Appliance that offered immutable backup. It was included in the budget for this year, and we are requesting permission to purchase this appliance at this time. We are using a State Contract NASPRO vendor for this purchase. RECOMMENDATION: Motion to Approve the 2024 Budgeted purchase of the Stonefly Storage using the NASPRO contract vendor SHI ATTACHED: SHI Quote Stonefly Brief Overview Sheet  NEW BUSINESS ITEM: A DATE: May 22, 2024 TO: Mayor Donovan and City Council FROM: Erin Keator, Human Resources Director SUBJECT: IAFF LOCAL 1983 FIREFIGHTER COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT RECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends that Council authorize the Mayor to sign the IAFF Local 1983 Firefighter collective bargaining agreement for January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2026. INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND: The firefighter collective bargaining agreement expired on December 31, 2023. The City and Union began contract negotiations in November of 2023 and reached a tentative agreement for a three year contract in April of 2024. The Union voted to approve the agreement. FINDINGS/CONCLUSIONS: Three year contract – January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2026. Cost of Living Adjustments • January 1, 2024 10% • January 1, 2025 CPI-W June Index 2% to 5% • January 1, 2025 CPI-W June Index 2% to 5% • Changed Educa�on Incen�ve from a flat dollar amount to a percentage of salary • Increased Deferred Comp from 4% to 5% • Increased Life Insurance benefit to $50,000 from $20,000 • 2024 cost of implementa�on above 2024 budgeted amount = $29,000 RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that Council authorize the Mayor to sign the IAFF Local 1983 Firefighter collective bargaining agreement for January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2026. ATTACHED:  NEW BUSINESSS ITEM: B DATE: May 22, 2024 TO: Mayor Donovan and City Council FROM: Jennifer Berner SUBJECT: STREET CLOSURE REQUEST – MVHS GRADUATION PARADE RECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends Council approve the Street Closure Request for the 2024 Mount Vernon High School Graduation Parade. INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND: The Mount Vernon High School’s Graduation Parade will be held on Tuesday June 11, 2024 at 6pm. FINDINGS/CONCLUSIONS: This parade will recognize the graduating class of Mount Vernon High School. It will bring community members together to fulfill the mission of the City to promote Mount Vernon as a wonderful place to come, visit, do business, and live. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the temporary closure of South 1st Street and Cleveland Avenue to accommodate the Graduation Parade. ATTACHED: Parade Map
