CALL TO ORDER Chair Donahue called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present 4- Max Beckman-Harned, Randall Stock, Nicole Vogt, and Chairperson Paul Donahue Absent 1- Vice Chair Elena Lopez 3. MINUTES APPROVAL Minutes for the March 27, 2017 meeting have been delivered to Board members and copies posted on the Library bulletin board. If there are no corrections or additions, a motion is in order to approve these minutes. Motion - M/S Stock/Beckman-Harned to approve the Library Board minutes of the March 27, 2017 meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4- Beckman-Harned, Stock, Vogt, and Chairperson Donahue Absent: 1- Vice Chair Lopez 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC - None 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5.1 Library Narrative Budget Director Macek reviewed all the Library items in the narrative budget report and answered questions. 5.2 Library CIP Budget Director Macek reviewed the Capital Improvement Program items for the Library and answered questions. City of Mountain View Page 1 Library Board Minutes April 24, 2017 5.3 Library Board Benchmark Report The Board discussed the report and agreed to remove the wording on page 1 and 3 that Mountain View has roughly 25,000 fewer recent books than other libraries. Motion - M/S Beckman-Harned/Donahue to accept the report as amended. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 3- Beckman-Harned, Stock, and Chairperson Donahue Absent: 1- Vice Chair Lopez Abstain: 1- Vogt The Board discussed sending the benchmark report to the City Council on Wednesday morning along with the following statement: “The Board supports the April 2017 Narrative budget. The Board also recommends funding the three Library CIP projects in FY 17/18.” Motion - M/S Stock/Beckman-Harned to send the report to City Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4- Beckman-Harned, Stock, Vogt, and Chairperson Donahue Absent: 1- Vice Chair Lopez 6. NEW BUSINESS - None 7. BOARD/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS, AND COMMITTEE REPORTS Trustee Beckman-Harned asked about changing renewal notices for a patron at Microsoft but Director Macek responded that these could not be changed. The next Mayor’s meeting with boards and commissions will be in May. 7.1 Library Director’s Report Director Macek presented the report and answered questions. 8. DONATIONS Motion - M/S Stock/Beckman-Harned to accept the donations.
