Wednesday, June 29, 2022 7:00 PM Video Conference with No Physical Meeting Location
During this declared state of emergency, the meeting was conducted in accordance
with California Government Code §54953(e) as authorized by resolution. Please contact
city.clerk@mountainview.gov to obtain a copy of the applicable resolution. All members
of the Parks and Recreation Commission participated in the meeting by video
conference, with no physical meeting location.

Chair Bryant called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

• That staff monitor the pilot program and return to the PRC with findings in six months
• That the color of the lines chosen be compatible to the extent there is a compatibility

Commission and Urban Forestry Board Work Plan to be forwarded to the City Council for
approval (Attachment 1 to the memorandum), with the following requests:
• Create separate items for the Dedicated Pickleball Feasibility Study Report and
Rengstorff Pilot Program
• Include milestones for both Pickleball items and the Biodiversity Strategy/Urban Forest
Plan item
• Receive monthly verbal updates on the Biiodiversity Strategy/Urban Forest Plan
• Staff to explore the possibility of joint meetings with Council Sustainability Committee
and/or City Council

4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons wishing to address the Commission on any matter not
on the agenda. Speakers are limited to three minutes. State law prohibits the Commission from acting on
non-agenda items.
5. NEW BUSINESS
5.1 Pickleball Community Input Survey Results and Recommended Pilot Program
Recommendation: Review and approve staff’s recommendation regarding a pilot program to add dual
striping of pickleball courts on a select number of tennis courts as follows:
• Dual striping of six pickleball courts on Court Nos. 1 and 2 at Cooper Park tennis
courts;
• Implement designated times of play for each sport on dual-striped Court Nos. 1
and 2-8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., seven days a week, for pickleball play only; 3:00 p.m.
to sunset, seven days a week, for tennis play only; and
• Staff to monitor this pilot program for one year following implementation and
return to the Tennis Advisory Board and the Parks and Recreation Commission with
findings in fall 2023.

ADDRESSING THE COMMISSION:
Interested persons are entitled to speak on any item on the agenda and should make their interest known to the Chair.
Anyone wishing to address the Commission on an item not on the agenda may do so during the "Oral Communications" part of the
agenda. For any agenda item or for Oral Communications on nonagenda items, if there appears to be a large number of speakers, the
Chair may reduce speaking time to no less than 1.5 minutes per speaker unless there is an objection from the Commission by majority
vote.
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.3(b)(1), at least twice the allotted speaking time will be provided to a member of the public
who utilizes a translator.
