1. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chair Donahue called the meeting to order at 6:21 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL

3. MINUTES APPROVAL
3.1 Approval of Minutes.
The Performing Arts Committee approve the minutes of the February 21, 2018
meeting.

5.1 One-Act Play Festival Subcommittee Report.
To adopt the play "The Good Doctor" by Neil Simon as the work for the upcoming
play festival of 2019

To approve the Performing Arts Committee Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2018-19

3.1 Approval of Minutes.
Recommendation: The Performing Arts Committee approve the minutes of the February 21, 2018 meeting.

4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons wishing to address the Commission on any matter not on the
agenda. Speakers are limited to three minutes. State law prohibits the Commission from acting on non-agenda
items.
5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
5.1 One-Act Play Festival Subcommittee Report.
Recommendation: Background: The One-Act Play Festival Subcommittee was first formed in June 2013 and
has had several successful years of productions. The Performing Arts Committee (PAC)
will be working on plans for the 2019 Festival.

2019 Mentor Guidelines
5.2 MV Presents.
Recommendation: Background: With assistance and encouragement from PAC over several years, several
interested parties have incorporated as the 501(c)(3) entity MV Presents, which has a
goal of supporting MVCPA programs through fundraising and development of festivals.
Former Committee member Raymond Chan is working with the MV Presents Liaison
Subcommittee to coordinate that group's efforts with the Center.

5.3 SecondStage Fee Waiver Program.
Recommendation: Background: At the December 11, 2013 PAC meeting, the PAC approved a SecondStage
Fee Waiver Program. The PAC provided their first fee waiver under this program at the
November 10, 2015 meeting.
Review all currently received fee waiver applications.
5.4 Work Plan for 2018-19.
Recommendation: Background: Each year the PAC submits a Work Plan to City Council for the following
fiscal year.
Approve or amend the draft plan submitted by Staff.

6. NEW BUSINESS
6.1 Submissions for possible new MVCPA logo.
Recommendation: Background: Staff have solicited submissions from Design Crowd, an online crowd
sourcing graphic design site. Staff will present finalist submission and ask PAC
members to provide individual feedback.
No action required.
7. COMMITTEE/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS, AND COMMITTEE
REPORTS
No action will be taken on any questions raised by the Commission at this time.

•Interested persons may review the agenda and staff reports at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts
beginning the Friday before each regular meeting. Staff reports are also available during each meeting.

assistance should call the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts office at 650-903-6565 48 hours in advance of the

meeting that are public records will be made available in the appropriate alternative format.
•The Board, Commission, or Committee may take action on any matter noticed herein in any manner deemed appropriate
by the Board, Commission, or Committee. Their consideration of the matters noticed herein is not limited by the
recommendations indicated herein.

on this agenda will be made available for public inspection in the Center for the Performing Arts office, located at 500

•Interested persons are entitled to speak on any item on the agenda and should make their interest known to the Chair.
•Anyone wishing to address the Board, Commission, or Committee on a nonagenda item may do so during the “Oral
Communications” part of the agenda. Speakers are allowed to speak one time on any number of topics for up to three
minutes.
•Anyone requiring Spanish interpretation services will be afforded twice the allotted speaking time allowed for each
specific item.
