MINUTES BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES SPECIAL MEETING August 24, 2009 1. Mayor Robert Mezzo called the special meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: PRESS: P. Singley T. K. Rossi H. Kuczenski R. Burns R. Neth A. Campbell P. Scully M. Ciacciarella R. Woodfield M. Fragoso OTHERS: DEPARTMENT HEADS: N. DiMeo, Mayor’s Office E. Carter, Mayoral Aide W. McAllister, Controller 2. Mayor Mezzo led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 3. VOTED: Unanimously on motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Burns to recess to executive session at 6:01p.m. on the following: Pending Litigation, Real Estate, Personnel and Collective Bargaining inviting in Controller Wayne McAllister. Mayor Mezzo reconvened the meeting at 7:15p.m. 4. The following motion emanated from Executive Session. Motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Neth that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses approve the recommendation of the sub-committee to hire Kristy Sturges as the Animal Control Officer at an annual salary of $30,000. Burgess Campbell missed the executive session regarding this appointment and asked to go into executive session once more. The above motion was rescinded by Deputy Mayor Rossi and Burgess Burns. VOTED: Unanimously on motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully to recess to Executive Session at 7:19 p.m.  -2- Minutes – Special Borough Board August 24, 2009 Mayor reconvened the meeting at 7:24 p.m. The following motion emanated from Executive Session. Motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Neth that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses approve the recommendation of the Animal Control’s sub- committee to hire Kristy Sturges as the Animal Control Officer at an annual salary of $30,000. RESULT OF VOTE FOR: OPPOSED: ABSTAIN: Mayor R.Mezzo R. Neth M. Ciacciarella None R. Burns P. Scully A. Campbell R. Woodfield T. Rossi H. Kuczenski M. Fragoso Motion carried 7-3-0 VOTED: Unanimously on motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Neth that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses approve the Borough Clerk’s Hiring Sub-Committee’s recommendation to hire Nancy DiMeo at an annual salary of $45,000. Mayor recessed the meeting at 7:34 to the Joint Board of Mayor and Burgesses and Finance Board. Mayor reconvened the special meeting at 8:30 p.m. 5. VOTED: Unanimously on motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Burns to recess to Retirement Board at 8:31 p.m. 6. Mayor reconvened the meeting at 8:35 p.m. 7. Motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Neth to adjourn the meeting at 8:36 p.m. A tape recording of this meeting is available in the office of the Borough Clerk for further review.
