MINUTES BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES SPECIAL MEETING MAY 15, 2012 1. Mayor Robert Mezzo called the special meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: T. K. Rossi L. Jackson M. Bronko R. Neth R. Burns R. San Angelo, arr. 6:05 p.m. M. Ciacciarella, arr. 6:06 p.m. P. Scully, Sr., arr. 6:15 p.m. C. Ernsky, absent DEPARTMENT HEADS: PRESS: K. Rosenfeld, Town Planner R. DeRosa A. Malik RESIDENTS: L. Marshall Three OTHERS: W. Malicki, Fire Commission D. Scinto, Finance Board J. Zarrella, Campion Ambulance J. Rodrigo, AMR L. Santoro, Naugatuck Ambulance Attorney E. Fitzpatrick 2. Mayor Mezzo led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. 3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Neth to recess to Executive Session at 6:01 p.m. for discussion on the following: Collective Bargaining (UPSEU). No one outside of the Board was invited in. Mayor Mezzo reconvened the meeting at 6:07 p.m. 4. The following motion emanated from Executive Session. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Neth that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses authorize Mayor Mezzo to enter a memorandum of agreement between the Borough of Naugatuck and UPSEU Local 424 Unit 15 and any other related documents thereto. P. Scully was not present for the vote. 5 Motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Burns that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses accept the recommendation of the EMS Subcommittee and award the bid for “EMS Services for the period of July 1, 2012 through June  -2- Minutes – Board of Mayor and Burgesses Special Meeting – May 15, 2012 30, 2013” to Campion Ambulance Service Inc., 15 West Dover Street, Waterbury, CT 06706 in the amount of $96,000 and authorize Mayor Mezzo to execute all contracts and related documents in connection with the award of the bid. Motion withdrawn. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Neth to table item number five on the agenda this evening. 6. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses authorize Mayor Mezzo to execute all contracts and related documents with the consultant in connection with the updating of the 2001 Plan of Conservation and Development. 7. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully to adjourn the meeting at 6:27 p.m. A digital recording of this meeting is available in the office of the Borough Clerk for further review.
