SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES
JULY 29, 2013
1. Mayor Robert A. Mezzo called the special meeting to order at 5:55 p.m. with the
following in attendance:

2. Mayor Mezzo led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by
Burgess Scully to recess to Executive Session at 5:56 p.m. for discussion
on the following: Collective Bargaining (Chapter 90). No one outside of
the board was invited in.
Mayor Mezzo reconvened the meeting at 5:58 p.m.
4. The following motions emanated from Executive Session.
VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by
Burgess Neth that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses authorize Mayor
Robert Mezzo to enter into a memorandum of agreement between the
Borough of Naugatuck and the Borough of Naugatuck Supervisors
Chapter 90 C.S.E.A., Inc./SEIU, AFL-CIO, Local 760 with regard to
Naugatuck Youth and Family Services.
VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by
Burgess Burns that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses authorize Mayor
Robert Mezzo to enter into a memorandum of agreement between the

Borough of Naugatuck and the Borough of Naugatuck Supervisors
Chapter 90 C.S.E.A., Inc./SEIU, AFL-CIO, Local 2001 regarding the
Animal Control Officer Position.
For the record:
Mayor Mezzo: “Both of these pertain to existing arrangements with the bargaining unit
to allow us not to fill the Animal Control Officer and the Director of Youth and Family,
providing stipends for work to be completed by members of the bargaining unit.”
5. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by
Burgess Scully to adjourn the meeting at 5:59 p.m.

further review.
