MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES AUGUST 26, 2015 1. Mayor Robert A. Mezzo called the special meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: PRESS: T. K. Rossi R. Neth None M. Bronko A. Olbrys, absent R. Burns . P. Scully, Sr. RESIDENTS: C. Ernsky, absent R. Vitale None L. Jackson, absent DEPARTMENT HEADS: M. Katra, Republican Registrar R. Butler, Controller J. Bernegger, Deputy Police Chief 2. Mayor Mezzo led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. 3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses set Tuesday, September 22, 2015 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. as the date and time for the Second 2015/2016 Budget Referendum, to be held at the Naugatuck Historical Society/Railroad Station, 195 Water Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770. 4. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses approve the following questions to appear on the Second 2015/2016 Budget Referendum Ballot: “Shall the Town Operating Budget of $53,580,608 for the Borough of Naugatuck for the fiscal year 2015/2016 be adopted? Yes No- Too High No- Too Low “Shall the Board of Education Budget of $61,683,651 for the Borough of Naugatuck for the fiscal year 2015/2016 be adopted? Yes No- Too High No- Too Low 5. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses approve the bid and authorize Mayor Mezzo to execute all contracts and related documents -2- Minutes – Board of Mayor and Burgesses Special Meeting – August 26, 2015 for the “Traffic Signal Installation on Rubber Avenue at the High School Driveway” to CN Electric Company, 670 Bread and Milk Street, Coventry, CT 06238 in the amount of $37,600 as recommended by the Naugatuck High School Renovation Committee. 6. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully to adjourn the special meeting at 5:34 p.m. A digital recording of this meeting is available in the office of the Borough Clerk for further review.
