REVISED MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES SEPTEMBER 22, 2015 1. Mayor Robert A. Mezzo called the special meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: RESIDENTS: T. K. Rossi R. Neth None M. Bronko, arr. 6:03 p.m. A. Olbrys R. Burns P. Scully PRESS: C. Ernsky R. Vitale None L. Jackson DEPARTMENT HEADS: OTHERS: J. Stewart, Public Works Director N. Grello, Attorney R. Butler, Jr., Controller R. Fitzpatrick, Brown & Brown S. Hunt, Police Captain Eight Police Dept. Employees 2. Mayor Mezzo led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. 3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Neth that Board of Mayor and Burgesses approve the bid and authorize Mayor Mezzo to execute all contracts and related documents for “Retaining Wall and Siphon Repair at Fulling Mill Brook” to True Blue Environmental Services, 5 Northfield Road, Wallingford, CT 06492 in the amount of $469,950.00 as recommended by Public Works Director James Stewart. 4. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses authorize Mayor Mezzo to appoint the following members of the Five Year Capitol Committee as the Building Committee for the Western School Roof Replacement Project, as if read: Cindy Herb Kevin Knowles 161 Park Avenue 157 Park Avenue Raymond Lennon, Jr. Robert Neth 39 Partridgetown Road 30 City Brook Road Wayne McAllister 35 Park Avenue 5. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses recess to Executive Session at 6:06 p.m. for discussion on the following: Collective -2- Minutes – Board of Mayor and Burgesses Special Meeting – September 22, 2015 Bargaining (Police Union) inviting in Attorney N. Grello and R. Fitzpatrick, Brown & Brown. Mayor Mezzo reconvened the meeting at 7:06 p.m. 6. The following motion emanated from Executive Session. Motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses approve the funding necessary to implement the collective bargaining agreement between the borough and the police union for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2018. ROLL CALL VOTE: FOR OPPOSE ABSTAIN Mayor Mezzo T. K. Rossi R. Neth R. Burns M. Bronko C. Ernsky P. Scully, Sr. A. Olbrys L. Jackson R. Vitale Motion failed 3-6-1 7. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully to adjourn the meeting at 7:08 p.m. A digital recording of this meeting is available in the office of the Borough Clerk for further review.
