SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES
JUNE 21, 2016
1. Mayor N. Warren “Pete” Hess called the special meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. with the
following in attendance:

DEPARTMENT HEADS:

2. Burgess Vitale led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Neth and seconded by Burgess
Burns to recess to Executive Session at 6:02 p.m. for discussion on the
following: Pending Litigation (Borough of Naugatuck and WPCA vs.
Naugatuck Environmental Technologies LLC) inviting in Public Works
Director James Stewart and Attorney E. Fitzpatrick.
Mayor Hess reconvened the meeting at 6:46 p.m.
4. The following motion emanated from Executive Session.
VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Neth and seconded by Burgess
Scully that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses approve the agreement and
authorize Mayor Hess to execute all documents related to the Settlement
Memorandum of Understanding between the Borough of Naugatuck,
the Water Pollution Control Authority of the Borough of Naugatuck,
Naugatuck Environmental Technologies LLC and Veolia Water
North America – Northeast LLC.
5. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Neth and seconded by Burgess
Jackson that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses authorize Mayor N.
Warren “Pete” Hess to execute all contracts and related documents for a
Police and Youth Program Grant through the Office of Policy and
Management in the amount of $9,968 for Naugatuck’s Police and Youth
Partners Project as recommended by Naugatuck Youth Services Director
Kristin Mabrouk.

6. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Neth and seconded by
Burgess Jackson to adjourn the special meeting at 6:50 p.m.
