MINUTES BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES SPECIAL MEETING SET THE MILL RATE – FISCAL YEAR 2017-2018 MAY 8, 2017 1. Mayor “Pete” Hess called the special meeting to order at 8:51 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: PRESS: R. Neth L. Jackson E. Gugliotti R. Burns P. Scully, Sr. L. Weschler K. Donovan R. Vitale C. Herb D. Wisniewski , absent D. Hoff DEPARTMENT HEADS: E. Murray, Fire Chief R. Butler, Jr., Controller P. Russell, Deputy Fire Chief OTHERS: S. Bronko, Board of Finance A. Olbrys, Board of Finance R. Burke, Board of Finance J. Savarese, Board of Finance S. Euvino, Board of Finance D. Scinto, Board of Finance A. Lopez, Board of Finance S. Stirk, Board of Finance 2. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Neth and seconded by Burgess Scully that that the tax rate for the fiscal year July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 on the Borough of Naugatuck Grand List of October 1, 2016, as amended by the Board of Assessment Appeals, be and hereby is laid at 48.55 Mills on the Dollar, due and payable 50% July 1, 2017, 50% January 1, 2018 on real estate tax and personal property tax. All real estate and personal property tax bills $100.00 or less will be due and payable July 1, 2017. Motor vehicle taxes over $300.00 will be due and payable 50% July 1, 2017, 50% January 1, 2018. All motor vehicle tax bills $299.99 or less will be due and payable July 1, 2017. 3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Neth and seconded by Burgess Donovan to adjourn the special meeting at 8:53 p.m. A digital recording of this meeting is available in the office of the Borough Clerk for further review.
