MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES FEBRUARY 28, 2019 1. Mayor “Pete” Hess called the special meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: PRESS: L. Taf Jackson D. Hoff, absent E. Gugliotti M. Bronko R. Neth R. Burns, absent R. Vitale RESIDENTS: J. DeOliveira D. Wisniewski , absent None C. Herb DEPARTMENT HEADS: J. Lawlor, Human Resources Director R. Butler, Jr., Purchasing/Financial Analyst 2. Burgess Bronko led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. 3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by Burgess Neth to recess to Executive Session at 5:31 p.m. for discussion on the following: Personnel (Chief of Police) inviting in Human Resources Director John Lawlor. Mayor Hess reconvened the meeting at 6:05 p.m. 4. The following motion emanated from Executive Session. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by Burgess Neth that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses enter into an employment agreement with Steven Hunt for the position of Chief of Police and authorize Mayor Hess to sign the contract for a three year, four month term commencing March 3, 2019 terminating on June 30, 2022 as discussed in executive session. Burgess Vitale doesn’t necessarily agree with everything in the contract but said we have a quality, dedicated person. He thinks we are lucky to have him in this position. Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson said Steve will do a great job. Best of luck Steve and congratulations. 5. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by Burgess Neth to adjourn the special meeting at 6:06 p.m. A digital recording of this meeting is available in the office of the Borough Clerk for further review.
