BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES
OCTOBER 8, 2019
1. Mayor “Pete” Hess called the special meeting to order at 6:06 p.m. with the following in
attendance:

2. Burgess Herb led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by
Burgess DeOliveira that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses recess to the
Firemen’s Pension Plan “C” Board at 6:07 p.m.
Mayor Hess reconvened the meeting at 6:11 p.m.
4. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by
Burgess Hoff that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses approve the
appointment of Robert P. Burke (D), 150 Round Hill Road, Naugatuck,
CT 06770 as an alternate member of the Board of Finance, filling the
expired alternate term of V. Tasimi, term to expire June 1, 2021.
5. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by
Burgess DeOliveira that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses approve the
appointment of Ronald A. York, Jr., 108-6 Lantern Park Drive,
Naugatuck, CT 06770 as a regular member of the Conservation
Commission, filling the expired term of F. Flores, term to expire
November 1, 2021.
6. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by
Burgess DeOliveira that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses refer to the
Joint Boards of Mayor and Burgesses and Board of Finance the following
transfers from the various department line items to the following accounts
as recommended by Controller Allyson W. Bruce under the 2018/2019
Budget, as if read:

7. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by
Burgess Hoff that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses authorize Controller
Allyson W. Bruce to refund the following tax refund approved by Tax
Collector James Goggin; as if read:

8. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by
Burgess Hoff that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses recess to Executive
Session at 6:13 p.m. for discussion on the following: Real Estate
(Acquisition of Lanxess Property) and Pending Litigation inviting in
Controller Allyson W. Bruce and William Guerrera, USI.
Mayor Hess reconvened the meeting at 7:13 p.m.
9. There were no motions emanating from Executive Session.
10. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by
Burgess Hoff to adjourn the special meeting at 7:13 p.m.
