CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Brockman called the meeting to order at 4:32 p.m.
CALL OF ROLL: CITY SECRETARY
Councilmember Blakey arrived at 4:33 p.m.
Present 7 - Mayor Rusty Brockman, Councilmember Shane Hines,
Councilmember Christopher Willis, Mayor Pro Tem Harry
Bowers, Councilmember Lawrence Spradley, Councilmember
Jason Hurta, and Councilmember James E. Blakey
1. WORKSHOP
A) Presentation and discussion regarding the Fiscal Year 2023 Proposed
Budget and Plan of Municipal Services and the 2022 No New
Revenue and Voter Approval tax rates.
Mayor Brockman read the aforementioned item.
Robert Camareno presented this item.
B) Discuss and consider approval of the Proposed 2022 Tax Rate.
Mayor Brockman read the aforementioned item.
Jared Werner presented this item.
Mayor Pro Tem Bowers moved that the proposed tax rate be set at
.413935 per $100 of valuation, which is effectively a 5.9% percent
increase in the tax rate.Councilmember Hurta seconded the motion,
which passed unanimously.
C) Discuss and consider scheduling the public hearings on the 2022 tax
rate and the FY 2023 Proposed Budget and Plan of Municipal
Services.
Mayor Brockman read the aforementioned item.

Monday, August 8, 2022 New Braunfels Special City Council Regular Meeting
Councilmember Hurta made a motion to set the public hearing for the
tax rate and proposed budget be held at a meeting beginning at 6:00
p.m. Thursday September 8,2022 at 550 Landa Street, in the City
Council Chambers. Councilmember Spradley seconded the motion,
which passed unanimously.
Mayor Brockman announced the FY 2023 Proposed Budget along with
the 2022 Tax rate will be adopted on September 12, 2022 at a meeting
beginning at 6:00 p.m. at 550 Landa Street, in the City Council
Chambers.
4. ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Brockman adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
